Project Runway Well, that was unexpected. It felt like almost a total flip flop of this season so far.
Rami, Kevin and Christian in the bottom?
Sweet P on top???
Victorya seems to tend toward either extreme, so she was not a surprise. Ricky tends toward the bottom so he wasn’t a surprise either.
But Kevin leaving??? Wow. I just did not expect that at all. He’s made some of the best constructed outfits this season. His dress did look like something I could pick up at Ross for $39.95 and didn’t have much of anything imaginative to it. That surprised me.
I also don’t understand why they only had a top 2. Since there were 3 designers they sent off the runway at the beginning, one of them must have technically been in the top 3. I loved Jillian’s and Kit’s dresses. I liked them better than Victorya’s. Chris March’s, though, was just okay to me, but that may be because I didn’t like the color.
I also preferred Sweet P’s dress to Victorya’s. It truly was red carpet glamorous and I bet that young lady has an awesome time wearing it to her prom. I thought Victorya’s was okay, but I hate that she squishes everyone’s boobies so much and I couldn’t stand the girl’s hair style. It was too flat for her face.
Christian’s awfully young, so I think he probably needed that wake up call and will benefit from it throughout. I didn’t expect him to be eliminated. He’s way too creative and interesting to go this early. But he shouldn’t have blamed his teenager model that way in front of the judges and with the teenager model standing there. I have to agree with that. Maybe the lack of difference in their ages made him feel more comfortable doing that?
I have mixed feelings about Rami’s dress. On the one hand, it was lovely and perfectly constructed. On the other hand, the color wasn’t good and it did look like something made for a sophisticated young woman - perhaps a 27 year old going to a glamorous cocktail party.
I thought it was kind of silly that they had a bottom 4 and kept Rami on the runway to bitch at him since he had immunity and couldn’t be eliminated anyway. I would have just said Rami, you have immunity, you’re in and then put Jillian or Kit in the top 3 to have 6 on the runway at that point.
I wonder how those girls were chosen? Did they have the best grades or something? Also, I would have loved to have seen a scene of them going through the designers’ portfolios. Oh, and the one who told ... who was it??? that she was the only one left when she chose? Was that Victorya’s model? I can’t remember. I laughed. Those girls will probably keep those dresses forever (well, at least some of them) and have the coolest prom ever.
I remember my prom back in 1979 ... Eh, y'all don't want to hear about that. But my dress was this gorgeous flowy georgette thing and my date was a college boy artist, my first love, who I still think of fondly. And I don't have any pictures. :(
