Back from the shopping expedition!
It was, as I expected, both horrifying and hilarious. And there is additional horror and hilarity to come. It started over lunch when my father advised me that he was seriously considering dressing in drag and crashing the ladies' tea/shower. Now, he has some great wigs and a hideous polyester flowered dress from his performances in the retirement community's Annual Revue. Since my sister did a bunch of performancy stuff for them the Christmas after their wedding, I think it's a great way to get revenge. So I have been encouraging him all afternoon.
Then we dropped by the tailor so I could have my dress pinned for alterations. That went really well. The woman who is doing the alterations is super nice and seems very knowledgeable. The dress should be ready by Thursday afternoon.
Next we went to the titty dancer store. Before we got there, I'd suggested we look for something with a naval theme. But when we walked in the door, the obvious choice was staring right at us. PIRATES!!! There were some sample pirate outfits in the front display. So, the three of us started looking for sexy pirate costumes. We found a whole rack of them in the back. And they were actually pretty cute. But they were also $50 or more and dad's wife did not want to pay that. So we all wandered off and started looking on our own. I found some interesting mesh bikinis. But (and this is the kind of horrifying part) my dad was the winner. He came up with a teeny bikini with pirate skull and crossbones on the cups of the top and on the back of the panties, "Surrender the Booty!" Funny, naughty, and only $30! And that is what my dad's wife is giving my sister at her prissy shower. *evil grin*
