| 11:57 am | Random Ranting as I wake up I'm a fanfic writer. A male slash writer no less. I have produced some seriously crap pieces of fic in my time, I freely admit it, hindsight and growth as a writer being what it is - but DAMN. I struggle against the urge to rewrite things that have been sitting out over a year - I would rather acknowledge I have improved with time and better betas and keep doing what I enjoy. But sometimes I just want to kick my fandom square in the arse. Hacks who mangle characters and get worshipped for it. Who are smug and condecending to other writers because they are BNFs - so of course everything they write is utter perfection - and strike me as scarily like Anne Rice. Am I jealous if the attention they get? Yes, a little. I am. But mostly because I KNOW I write better than they do. Grr. Now I have to go write a fic for a comm I share with one of these asshats who will get fangurled and gushed over all in my mailbox. Yes, I know I should have unsubbed. Dammit!
