| 10:54 pm | Random news We lost power here at the house for about four and a half hours today. The house sure gets quiet when there's no power. The cats were useless at keeping me warm (they didn't even try). I spent the first half of the day alternating between knitting, crochet, and reading Blood and Destiny. | 11:02 pm | Addicted to felting Thanksgiving Day I knitted a little pouch to help protect my cellphone from scratches. ( Click here to see a photo of the phone and pouch below. ) Last night after work I knitted a little purse for my mom's digital camera. Tonight when I got home, I felted it. | 11:33 pm | Failed B&E One of my sister-in-law's friends complained that she doesn't have time to decorate for Christmas. The friend was supposed to be out of town for Thanksgiving, so yesterday we went to her house intending to retrieve her spare key and decorate for her. We were failures at B&E though -- the friend was home when we rang the doorbell. This didn't stop us from decorating though, it just meant my sister-in-law, nephew, and my s-i-l's niece got to do it with an audience. I'm pleased to report that the friend's living room looked quite festive when they finished and the gesture was much appreciated by the friend. | 3:20 pm | Brief RL update jebra and I have driven to Ionia for the the weekend. We're visiting my mother and attending Bev's annual soup supper. This year the theme is "stone soup." I figure the resulting soups will be interesting, although perhaps not edible.Supper isn't until 5:30, so at the moment mom has bread baking, we're listening to The Man of La Mancha, Gabe's taking a break from music transcription and having some lunch, and I've caught up on LJ. Now I need to decide whether I want to do more knitting, or if I'd prefer to read the zine I brought with me. Current Mood: relaxed |

| 12:41 pm | Saw the coolest thing this morning We left for work a wee bit late this morning, but there was still plenty of frost on our car when we made it outside. As I was about to climb into the passenger's seat, the spouse stopped me and told me look at the trees. It took a few seconds for my eyes to focus on what he was seeing, but when they did, I saw it was raining under the trees. Not a few sprinkles, but a nice steady downfall. Today was a beautiful fall morning -- not a cloud in sight, and the sun shining brightly. And rain under the trees.
