Me: Hold up. How does "not naming names cause my point isn't to get person X Y Z in trouble" stack with "Self-modding actually facilitated that ... each person realized that *if* they saw something not on, it was up to them to speak up ... we now have an active mod culture ... they need to move away from the authoritarian noises they make and encourage member involvement"?
I feel like I've missed something here.

Dude, I can understand that you hoped for a better reply than that, but from here it looks like Oulangi spent her whole day yesterday discussing this stuff with everyone who came along and wanted to and has put a lot of thought in all her comments and the phrasing of things and maybe there is just a point where people get exhausted?

That's true (which is why I posted my grump here rather than as a reply to her directly) -- but all the same I'd rather have been slapped a link to another comment, or even smacked with 'it's late I'm tired you're stupid'. Her reply just ... of all the replies possible, somehow the one she chose just reeks of Cabalishness and elitism.

Yes and no. No, I don't think there's a sekrit Cabal that omg controls fw and offshoots. Yes, I think there is a group of 20-25 members that have a /lot/ of history with each other, good and bad, and looks to be introverted with regard to how *_wanks are run.
I tend to see the so-called Cabal as being more of an 'old-skool wankas' thing. And I very much resent my perception of oulangi's reply as "go away n00b you're not wanted here".
Don't feel too bad. I pointed out that i_wank has been working under the self-modding system. And that the fandom_wank mods arent't necessarily the i_wank mods. And got smacked with the fact that it was Snacky who finally warned him. In otf_wank. So, yeah, I don't have an idea whether she's for self-modding or ban-hammer modding.
