The problem with the racist hair wank...
is that most people, on hearing the word "hair", will be seized with an uncontrollable urge to talk about their own hair. Only this theory can explain some of the comments on FW. They're not callous to racial concerns, they just want to enlighten you about the time someone asked to touch their blonde hair, or their struggles to find the right type of hairspray for their fine brunette curls.

Full disclosure here. I have very, very curly light-brown/blonde hair.

I actually think it's always been like this, just people idealize the old days. I've read the archives, and I'm never really blown over by the freshness and lively wit of earlier wanks.

My hair issue is it's way too dark to take any kind of hair dye without bleaching first. :( The only thing that gives me decent red color is SoftSheen Carlson.

My hair, let me speak loudly about it to people who don't care!

The next time someone brings up the poor oppressed Irish I'll start throwing potatos.

My only issue is trying to keep my fluffy hair down without making it look greasy. My life trying to mimic an anime character's hairdo, so hard. And John Frieda? Expensive & sucks, it's like glue.

Do you have any Lush stores where you're at? My boyfriend has very think, fluffy hair and the only thing that keeps it under control is Lush shampoo, conditioner and their King of Mods hair goo. It's good stuff, too, since he can glob it on and I can't even feel it in there.

I used to have half-green hair. Then I got even lazier and stopped bothering to bleach and dye my hair. My stories of difficulty getting a non-annoying-to-use green hair dye, let me tell you them!

Brown. Kind of wavy in a frizzy sort of way. It's going somewhat gray; I haven't figured out what to do about that yet.

I paid good money and got blisters all over my scalp in high school trying to achieve the perfect perm. It never looked good on me, and it ended up all "crispy," but at least it was big!

The main problem with the racist hair wank is that wanks about racism are never funny.

I have boyshort blonde hair. It is usually crazy-looking and kind of canary yellow, which I hate, because the highlights I got just plain suck.

I really just want to dye it dark green.

I think my problem is that the pigment for my hair and skin are wildly mismatched - my natural hair colour has a really obvious yellow tone to it, whereas my skin has no yellow tone at all, so the contrast just looks really yucky.

My life, so rough.

I have dark brown, straight, little-longer than shoulder length hair. My only major hair problems are that it won't hold curl, and that it tangles into a massive ball if you look at it wrong. So I just use detangler, and it's fine. I don't ever curl my hair, so I don't have to worry about that.

With the weather getting colder, my hair gets really static-y and it stands up on it's own. That's highly annoying.

I may not have the most beautiful hair in the world, but I definitely lucked out in that department.
