Nick grabs a bottle of water out of the fridge as soon as he gets home from his run, gulping it and wincing when the cold water gives him a bit of a headache.
"Good one," he mutters to himself, eying his cell phone in its usual place in it's charger. He's not talked to George since before George took off. He tried calling a couple of times but immediately got George's voice mail and hung up, unsure of what kind of message he could leave under the circumstances. But Rick mentioned last night that George would be home today.....

Us poor Canadians had to do without our NHL hockey this year! I could have survived if I was back home in Vancouver, but nooooooo, I'm stuck here in the land of surf and sun and can't even get the AHL games! *cries*
So just be glad you have playoff to cry over!

Damnit, it looks like the season officially done. Even though the players finally caved on the salary cap, it is probably too little too late. No Stanley Cup this year. That's not happened since 1919 and it took a flu epidemic to stop the playoff that year. Not even WWI or WWII could stop hockey, but greedy owners and players, no problem. I'll be over in the corner crying into my Gretzky jersey.

ESPN just showed results from a dog show....A DOG SHOW! Since when was that a 'sport'? See, this is how sad things get without the NHL!
Good damn thing I remembered to TiVo the AHL All-Star game before cooking dinner for Marton last night. We got a bit distracted afterwards. *big grin*
But still, NO HOCKEY! *cries* |
