| 8:50 pm | Indeed. Thought I'd announce my triumphant return in both of my journals. I was planning on writing this entry in Al Bhed, after all I use this journal for fandom stuff and fandom stuff only, but...um...even my dorkdom has limits. That, and I left my handy Al Bhed translation key at home. I'm so ashamed. |

I don't know what's geekier of me: the fact that I've watched 22 episodes of Matantei Loki Ragnarok over the last week or the fact that I've spent most of the time nitpicking over the mythological references. | 9:24 pm | It makes sense... In the course of cleaning my side of the room (as thanks for getting her mentioned on Fandom Wank) Vee decided to hang my posters for me. She had a great deal of trouble figuring out which side was up on the Hunter x Hunter poster. So she just put Killua on top. This amuses me greatly. | 8:19 pm | *sigh* I posted to Fandom Wank! Hooray! However, I've kinda noticed that the icons I've uploaded to JF are pretty blah. I mean, that's to be expected because I have no skillz whatsoever, but I thought I had better icons than that. Not that I can check because Koenma is at home awaiting repair and Hiei has only my INCREDIBLY crappy icons from sophomore year when I could barely use Paint. And I have too much work to do to waste time making new ones. Actually, that's lies. I have the time, but I'm too lazy to hunt down pictures to use. All the stuff on this computer is from old abandoned fandoms, for the most part. So maybe if I post enough, people will take pity on me and make me icons or something. Yesh. I work now. | 12:08 pm | ARGH Figured I'd post this here. I really do mean to use this journal for something more than a convenient way to read all the wank communities. I really do. So. A little rant. Why is it that, according to the fandoms out there, when a male character in any anime/manga/whatever is surrounded by women, drools over women, lusts after women, flirts with women, desires nothing more than to get some sweet sweet lovin' from a pretty young lady, yet has a close male friend is automatically gay? This is starting to drive me insane. I mentioned on Gaia that the reason a lot of Get Backers fans tend not not like Emishi is that he's so obviously heterosexual. And someone CALLED ME ON IT. I couldn't believe it. He/she went so far as to suggest that there may be a lot of heterosexual characters in the show, but Emishi definitely isn't one of them. Because of "the whole Shido-worship thing." They cited the manga, too, and I have to admit I haven't read up to volume 20, but I can't see that he abruptly started liking the men because of "the new guy that showed up." So basically, because Emishi is close friends with Shido and a bit in awe of his admittedly awesome powers, he's gay? Even though he readily believes an illusion in which he's surrounded by beautiful, worshipful women, an illusion in which he seems to be having a grand old time, I might add. Even though he says that his wish is to die "crushed by a beautiful woman?" Even though he has trouble breathing and almost goes into full nosebleed mode when a cute girl is changing into a series of uniforms that we see through his eyes in a rather sexualized manner?
