    A dream
I had the most bizarre dreams last night. Even if we discount the one about too much pale-blue alcohol, dreaming that you're Harry Potter is pretty weird. Add to that some plot involving the discovery of Death Eater tunnels below Hogwarts, and some sort of Death Eater treasure or weapon hidden down there, and all these students going down to search... It was like a shoot-em-up Nintendo game, though there weren't very many bad guys. I was Harry, like I said; I don't remember who else was with me, but I do remember the face of one girl in particular. We started kind of halfheartedly going down the tunnels, but half of us were scared and the other half were being noisy and not really doing much searching. I think something scared us, because we all ran off, and I and that girl I remember had to herd everybody together in the big main cavern and pep-talk everybody before we set out again, doing it right this time.

We were going along the tunnels, timidly pushing open doors and searching rooms. Well, toward the end of the tunnel, I started getting freaked out, because all these rooms had been empty and I just knew, with my luck, I'd pick the door where they were all hiding. I remember refusing to open it, just lingering in a corner awhile hoping I could fake knowing the ending (yes, meta bleed-over from me as reader) but I finally decided that Gryffindors (and Harry) were brave so I had to go open it. [There might have been another student who went with me? Details fuzzy] I opened it, and the first thing I saw was a Death Eater. He pointed his wand at me, and I fumbled mine up and petrified him; another started moving toward me, and I think I panicked, and I used the Killing Curse. He was close to me-- I saw him go down, I saw his face, and he was pretty old.

So I was standing in the doorway, tense and scared, but no one else came out of the room. Cautiously, I edged in, and it was empty. There had only been the two. So I poked around the room, and I found where the treasure thing was-- in these little gold-colored boxes not quite wand length and about an inch and a half wide and the same tall, in a hidden shelf to the left of the door. Being curious, of course, I opened one; it had chocolates in it. Chocolates. And somehow I knew that these two Death Eaters were, like, the only ones there, the last ones left behind to guard the treasure-weapon-whatever, and that the man I'd killed kept the chocolates, and used to eat one every now and then-- they were his comfort when he was thinking about growing old, being the only one left, being abandoned by a Lord who was never coming back. I remember thinking that I could never have faked knowing that ending, so it was a good thing I screwed up my courage and went in.

And then people got noisy and I woke up. Bizarre, no?

Let's see, Things That Make No Sense About This Dream:
    1. I was HARRY POTTER. A fifteen (16? 17?) year old MALE. A GRYFFINDOR.
    2. I've never played shooting games-- I get bored with them after a few minutes.
    3. I used the Killing Curse. I remembered the incantations for both curses used, WHILE DREAMING. Dude, fandom overkill!
    4. Chocolates. Yep, we know where my loyalties lie.
    5. Meta intrusion by myself into my character. Does this mean I dreamed a Harry-Sue? Or in two people at once, like a puppetmaster?

I'm leaving out any criticisms of plot and pacing, because, well, we all know how dreams are. It makes perfect sense at the time. I mean, somehow I got to Death Eaters in Hogwarts from blue alcoholic drinks, and I don't even drink!

Maybe I shouldn't eat cake for lunch?
