So I have a student who goes by the name "Rainbow."  I love that.

But do you know what I love more?  When I also have a student named Jesus in the same class.

Why?

Because you know that I'm going to put them next to each other, simply because I want "Rainbow Jesus" on my seating chart.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [info]lab!

I wish you a sumptuous meal and a priceless work of art, stolen by a cyborg masquerading as a human being.

WHO HAZ EXTRAS SEASON ONE?  MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Tue, Jun. 10th, 2008, 11:30 am

I like in-house wank.  I think that it is the way that my friendslist rises to the occasion and makes the funny.

Speaking of being late to the party...

I do not know what is going on, but I have been reading Fables!  I like het!  And canon!  And Snow White/Bigby!  I hope those two crazy kids work things out.  I just finished Storybook Love.

Aw, man.  I miss all the fail.
In other news, work is busy, but I only have a month of it left!  Yaaaaaay!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

HAPPY BEEEELATED BIRTHDAY [info]ashenmote!!!

YOU ARE MY HEEEERO

Sat, Feb. 23rd, 2008, 05:24 pm

I go to a simple lunch, and everyone is playing in the wankpool!  Over a webcomic!  Yay!

Not going to touch the "my thoughts on teachers" otf silliness.

In happy news, BFF and I had all-you-can-eat sushi rolls.  It is a good deal.  We ate spicy tuna over California rolls, garlic-rubbed tuna rolls, a red snapper over shrimp tempura roll (twice!) and a shittake maki, salmon and avocado, hamachi maki, and some other stuff.  I'm so happy.

I remember that the last time we went for dinner, BFF and I ordered only their vaguely-sexually-named menu choices, like the scallop bush (tasty) or the Oh! YES! Roll.

I thought that I would be done with being hopelessly in love with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, but then I re-watched the Hot Fuzzcasts, and BOOM.  I love them all over again.

I think that it is the way that Nick Frost says something hilarious, and Simon Pegg laughs.  I like how he finds his friend really hilarious.

Finally!

I got the Pocky and Meltykiss out yesterday.  Sorry, again.  Hope that post-Valentine's Pocky finds you well.

More Delays

Sorry everyone; I completely forgot that I'm Chinese, and the past week (plus the rest of this week) is being eaten alive by Chinese New Year, relatives roosting in all the crannies of my home, and insane government-mandated-testing of my students.  SORRY.  I have the Pocky, but I haven't had time to go out of the house to get packaging and such.  I'll get 'em out next week at the latest, I hope.

ETA: I LOVE ANN SO, SO MUCH!  ICONS!

Wed, Jan. 30th, 2008, 08:21 pm

84% fandom pure!
Um, Pocky boxes will hopefully be mailed this weekend.  I found tira misu, strawberry with little dehydrated bits, men's, milk and honey, green tea/chocolate ribbon, and TONS OF WINTER POCKY YAY.  There will be strawberry meltykiss for everyone except for Ann, who gets triple strawberry.

Completely random, but important thought, because I need to pick up a new Moleskine diary:
I don't really date readers.  That should change.

Meeeeehmohrieeeeees

Is anyone else experiencing borked links in "Memories" on JF, or is it just me?

I thought that I would take a poll before fucking off to [info]guineapig, just in case I'm stupid.

WARNING: Do not click on the link if ugly bugs fighting to the death will disturb you.  Especially if watching a crayfish get stung in the eye by a scorpion will make you sad.

So I'm going to regret watching these over and over again, but I'm completely mesmerized by Japanese Bug Fights.  I can't stop watching, but I know that it's wrong.  Also, I'm going to have nightmares.  I just know it.

Also, since when is a crayfish a "bug"?

Finally, I finished Great Expectations!  I feel so accomplished.  Now I can goof off for the weekend!

Wed, Jan. 2nd, 2008, 08:48 pm

I keep pretending to cook.  I have a broccoli and cheddar soup planned for tomorrow, but I also want to make a carrot-ginger soup.  Also, I'm panicking over the two days that I have left to read Great freaking Expectations.  I keep getting sidetracked by my tiny, tiny DVD collection and Kage freaking Baker.  This time, it's the Anvil of the World stories, which are hilarious and great.  I love that universe.

I have resolved to spend all of tomorrow reading Great Expectations.  Yes.  This will happen.  I will be strong.

Note to self: Read Empress of Mars online.

Note to self:
STOP NAPPING AND READING KAGE BAKER.  STOP IT.

Wed, Dec. 26th, 2007, 09:25 am

I can't stop watching or reading male BFF stuff.  I have watched Hot Fuzz as I fall asleep almost every night for the past week, and before that, it was A Bit of Fry and Laurie, and Blackadder before that.  Monterey caught me in the grip of a Sherlock Holmes and Kage Baker (only the Lewis and Joseph stories) reading marathon.  I'm about to re-tackle Jeeves and Wooster, both the books and the show.

I need to start reading something NEW.  I did pick up Transmetropolitan, the first and second collections, and I liked the first one.

I'm supposed to be reading Great Expectations.  I still can't get past the first chapter.  Honestly, Chuck, I don't know why I find your wit so tiresome, but I do.

I'm sorry that my life is boring.  Monterey was fun, and I bought many candles.  Reading with tea and a nice, mild candle is currently the only thing that I want to do.

Sun, Dec. 9th, 2007, 10:50 am

What a nice Saturday.  BFF, nice friend Partha, and I went to see The Golden Compass, which was a gorgeous sight.  I did find myself overwhelmed by the fact that every single preview was for an epic fantasy movie adaptation of a fill-in-the-blank children's novel (Prince Caspian, Inkheart, et al) that looked exactly like everything else.

We went to La Strada Ristorante in Palo Alto, where we ate buffalo (actual buffalo) mozzarella and had a nice, mild salt cod on fried paella to start.  They also have gnocchi in a fried cheese cup.  It was amazing.  FRIED CHEESE CUP!  I also highly enjoyed NF Partha's duck risotto and BFF's salty mushroom risotto in a sweet squash cup.

Off to grade papers.  I have two weeks until the holiday break.
