Is it just me or, with all the misused and abused commas, does this comment read like a list of FFR mod tags?

Ah, so John Masefield was an honourary German, then! I've been reading his novels lately, and the man punctuated, a bit like this, sticking them, wherever, he felt like.

He became poet laureate of Britain, while thousands of students were marked down for far smaller crimes. The world is not fair.
