Dude, there was so much wank back in the day about precisely this thing. There was a huge wankstorm over the sappiness of the b/k'ers and a bunch of people making fun of the Meloni fans and etc. It happened on the (defunct?) mailing list emcity and Shug's archive, which, if I remember correctly was destroyed in firey ball of wank! So much fun. Too early for fandom_wank, though.
