I harbour a secret affection for them for being one of those groups of fans that seems to be unapologetically batshit about their fandom.

My problem with the fandom is that I love the show, but I just don't seem to love it enough, you know? I mean, I own the boxset and the movie, but I don't want reconstructive surgery so I can look like Inara, and thus I am not a true fan.

As near as I can tell, it isn't humanly possible to love Firefly enough. It is an all-devouring mother goddess that will drain you of everything and yet still you will plead for its love.

Every time the box set goes on sale, and I think about buying it, I remember what its fandom is like and buy something else.
