Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Super fast quick read:  The Girl With The Silver Eyes, which I thought about recapping but then remembered I have no talent at writing down coherent thoughts much less recapping them.  This was one of my favorite books as a kid, and before I found it again, what I remembered is that nothing much happened, and there were a lot of descriptions of food, and she sat around and read a lot.  Basically my three favorite things as a child, and weirdly enough as an adult.  The majority of the story I did not remember, besides for the slumber party with the Twinkies and hot dogs.  MAN I loved that part.  Besides for the lack of action, the food, and the reading, I'm not sure why I loved this book so much.  THe main point is that the girl has telekinesis, which did not interest me in the slightest.  What I liked reading about was the Twinkies and hot dogs.  It's hard to believe I was not a porker.

Next up, even though I'm still in the middle of HP7 (and not digging it quite so much as I did the first time, because GINNY MUST DIE) is Shutter Island, since they fucked with my schedule and it's coming out next February instead of next month.  I'm very particularly about books turned into movies, as far as what movies I want to see before I read the book, or the ones where I want to definitely read the book before I see the movie.  Shutter Island was supposed to be movie first, book second, but I reeeally don't want to wait another six months to read it.  So screw it.
