Finished Shutter Island. I was not expecting it to be the mindfuck it ended up being, and that's the exact reason I wanted to see the movie first. It's easier to back through two hours of a movie to examine the mindfuck than it is to go back through 300 pages of a book. Still. Maybe I will have forgotten the major plot points by February. And I'm sure half of them won't even be in the movie, and that will be distracting as all fuck, and that's another reason it should have movie first. Oh well. I did like the book, it was a page-turner even though it didn't seem to pick up a lot of steam until the very end. First half of the book I was thinking, if this wasn't getting turned into a movie I reeeeally wanted to see, I probably would have quit reading. Mystery bloody gunny governmenty novels are not my bag baby.
