They Call Me Pretty Ehch.

So...yeah. I left it awfully late - BAD ME - but I wanted to let everyone know that I have officially signed up to walk the Terry Fox Run on September 14th! (It's only the second charity walk I've attempted, and my ankles hated me after the first one, but I made a promise to myself and I plan to keep it.)

For those unfamiliar with the Run, you may want to check out the Terry Fox website. It takes place every September and raises a lot of money for cancer research, and since I've lost some important people to the disease in my life, I figure it's high time to do more than just donate money. This year, I'M WALKING.

For once, I've got absolutely nothing to say about myself or my life! I think this flu has rendered me more or less brain dead. So, in the meantime, I come bearing fascinating (mostly creepy, sometimes hilarious, occasionally serious) links for your perusal. • Oh. My. God. Anyone who was following Gawker's WORST GUY IN THE WORLD will definitely want to see Paul Janka, easily a contender for second place, if not tied for 1st. Make sure you click the tag about him to get the WHOLE scoop. (Also worth checking out: John "They're Threatening My Life Because I Blew Off A Fat Chick On The Internet" Fitzgerald Page's appearance on the same ep of Dr. Phil's Sad Perv Day. I encourage you to go to shadesong's journal to read her entries about her experience [note: beware of triggers] , to read the comments of the many, many people who have suffered similar things, and to light a candle for someone you know (or even yourself) along with her on June 6th. (You can also send her candles to light on your behalf; I'm considering doing the same thing for my Flist, actually - it's a beautiful idea.)
  
  
• Sometimes Dan Savage makes me angry; this time he made me laugh (been there, done this): 'Geezer In Love' has fallen for his 'much younger coworker' and probably wanted better advice than what he got.
  
  
• Will Owen Wilson succeed this time? Kate Hudson dumps his scruffy, unfunny ass once again. Fool me once, blah blah blah.
  
  
• Morgan Spurlock's new documentary - "Where In The World Is Osama bin Laden?" - isn't going over terribly well: 'Apparently it never occurred to the documentary filmmaker that terrorism, Islamic fundamentalism and anti-American rancor are not as easily distilled as the calorie count of a Quarter Pounder.' • And now, have a look at one of the most bizarrely disturbing "kid's cartoons" I've ever seen. ( An incredibly creepy cartoon...??? )
  

Hope at least some of that keeps you entertained. It certainly amused me, in all my Kleenex-covered glory.
