wankstorms from misunderstandings
Man, so many people are disappointing me.

Look, people couldn't be trusted not to be stupid. They were doing stupid shit, then coming back to the [info]bad_penny and bragging about it. Shit that is explicitly against the rules. Like poking. No, eso no se hace!

And instead of listening some people jumped in with their own wants and desires and tried to derail the thread. Then when they didn't get their way deleted it and tried to derail it via spin control.

Well, I happened to have the thread in question still in my browser when I heard everything else had been deleted.

So, folks-at-home. Here's what went down before it went down.

My favorite part of this whole thing: you screened the IPs with purple.

It was a random click. If so many people hadn't been IM'ing me I could have found a purty puce!

I... didn't know you were a mod. And flying Dot gips! I've been hitting "comment on this" too much when I go to your journal.

Meh, I prefer to get things done quietly but effectively rather than with the big guns.

If Livia were in fandom, she'd be like MsScribe--except she'd never be found out and all her rivals would have dropped dead of various causes not traceable to her.

Until her disgraced grandson penned a devastating expose generations later, that is. It wouldn't matter then, though, because she's still a badass. She probably poisoned his mushrooms decades in advance.

Livia Drusilla was the last wife of the first Roman Emperor, Caesar Augustus. She gave birth to Tiberius, who would eventually follow Augustus as total leader of the Roman Empire.

She was also in all ways a badass. Robert Graves' I, Claudius novels, while very well-written and entertaining works, completely demonized her, speculating that she was behind every premature death in the Julio-Claudian family from Marcellus, first son-in-law of Augustus, to her two young grandchildren. Most modern historians disbelieve this theory, as Graves based his novels almost entirely off of The Twelve Caesars, also known as a gossip rag for the ancients :o)

This is probably more than you wanted to know, so, in conclusion: she is my ancient Roman girlfriend. *hearts*

That's Sian Phillips as Livia, from the BBC adaptation of I, Claudius - it's quite brilliant, and it has a lot of very good actors.

My icon is the same actress with several pounds fewer of aging make-up. The line on it comes from a "pep-talk" she gave to some gladiators she'd hired to perform some combats in honor of one of her sons. Something to the effect that she knows all the tricks they use to put on a bloody show while avoiding getting killed for real, and they'd better not do any "pretend dying" on her nickle if they know what's good for them and their families.

It's late, I'm about to go to bed, so either speak algo que pueda entender something I can understand or please don't obfuscate.

I don't like deletions. They never accomplish a thing but making more of a mess of what might have otherwise been explained. So if you're applauding that then, well... vete.

I'm not sure, as I was asleep at the time, but from the posts that I had read before I went to bed, she was probably banned fot persistently accusing BP and BP members for trolling with no proof. Even though members are encouraged not to troll.

I am a complete outsider and reading every thing after the fact, so I can't say if this is indeed the case.

The sad part? If they'd couched their questions as real questions worthy of discussion and then not tried to derail the entire thing with spin I bet they'd have had their bans rescinded eventually.

The sock-puppets coming back to wank sort of clinched the deal.

Why create the PyrateJenniDisinformationSociety?
