My thoughts on the recent wankity-wank.
I find it somewhat ironic that everyone is going on about readability when.
Uh.
Fact:
Lowercase is easier to read than uppercase.
MY OPINION:
I'd personally rather people paragraph than use mixed case. There are people I seriously want to go and stabbity in there and the OP isn't one of them.
DISCLAIMER:
Mixed case is nice too, though.
Fact:
Ow. Ow. Ow. My eyes, my eyes.
Viva la boredom. o.o;
That being said, I agree that making an effort to make your posts readable goes a long way in keeping people amicable. + It is polite because it makes things a lot easier for people and more likely to pay attention to the meaning than focusing on the semantics.
+ What's so hard about adjusting your writing style for the group your writing to. It's not like that's completely different from what you do in meatspace anyway...

I think if she'd responded to the first comment with, "Oh, yes. This is the way I usually write in my journal; sorry, I'll do it differently here." ...or, really, in any way but "it's art! how dare you fail to recognize my art!"... it would have died aborning. Alas, she had to defend herself to everyone, then she got offended and decided we were all racists (except not with skin color or religion or anything... what??).
Also:

People likely wouldn't have noticed at all if they hadn't been completely lost by the "je fandom" referenced in the wank report. So, the style issue stood out because of problems with the content.
But while the content being unclear did exasperate the issue, I still think that there would of been people making snarky comments at gunhilda.
Oh, now there, yes. I do agree.
Instead of making everything one solid block of text, you split it up into ideas, spacing it out, allowing more focus on one concept at a time, and it reduces the chances of peoples eyes going cross-eyed and your post looking like something the cat vomited up.
As an example of what paragraphing is, this comment should have about four mini-paragraphs in total. Though usually it's a bit more than a sentence at at time. Which is why this is a slightly more tl;dr than normal answer. :)
I uh, favour comparatively small paragraphs since it since it makes things a hell of a lot easier for myself to read. But using -any- would be nice. I find it highly ironic that someone was going on about ease of reading when their post takes me at least double the normal amount of time to read and adds to my headache when doing so.

Yes, paragraphs are good. I love them. I produce blocks of text when I'm terribly excited or if I get lost in run-on-sentences. Or both. But otherwise there will be paragraphs.
And I can understand the feeling. @.@;
*nods* I can understand that, I don't mind when it's a once of situation and it's about being lost in a particular mood and pace... But. Paragraphs are good. Repeat, repeat, repeat!
I know typing the wank report in all caps had to annoy some people, but personally, I thought it was funny and drove the point home that AR-TEESTIC XPRESSHUN actually can = really fucking annoying. Well, to everyone except
Oh, we totally understand that. We just think it makes you look foolish. And then we eat our own.
