This was my hobby at one point, like many other things I do, to annoy someone. Writing down as much as I can, while sleep deprived to redo this.

Er the overall point was that concepts are backuped by language, and just because the approach is different doesn't make the concept any less or more, only differently shaped. Or soemthing.

Basically pointing out similarities between fantasy and scifi.

Astronomy is from Astrology, Chemistry is from Alchemy, Science Fiction is from Fantasy and ultimately the difference lies in motivation/explanation.

In other words Qem likes reading trashy novels.

Er this list was probably largely influenced by or influenced the SpaceFaring Unicorns that were highly placed in an organisation that effectively created an intergalactic economic and technological stranglehold.

At this point I'm not sure which came first - the unicorns had spaceships about a decade before the list, but the unicorns were considerably refined after the list. But both the list and the unicorns can be summed by... "I fail to see a difference." and "Whee this is cool!"

This is what happens when you read your fathers books before your tall enough to get them of the shelf without a chair.

So. There's this book sitting on the dining table, which in my house means "HEY OPEN GROUNDS FOR READING", so I picked it up.

This is incidentally the same sort of policies that lead to my mother and myself reading Harry Potter, as well I got started on the Bartimeous trilogy, etc.


It's labelled survivors and has a dark city, mushroom cloud and moon... So I'm thinking "post-apoplectic sci-fi" and I flip it over to read the blurb.

Basically a bunch of DA trolls have been going around specifically reporting fan art, which while the art in particular is mostly platonic stuff ... one of the characters is underage.

So a user wrote to deviant art about it...

I really don't think I could cope with people telling me I'm evil for having a pet right now sort of thing.

But I'm a bit worried, not emergency room worried but, that's just not right, worried.

Back in 2004, I knew I had turned into a Slasher as opposed to someone who just reads teh Slash on occasion, when while watching a pretty obviously het, harem anime series based on a Hentai Game. Comic Party. When I could not get it out of my head that

And while everyone in the series more or less wants to bonk Kazuki, there's no lack of competition, it was the only pairing that really stood out for me, apart from, you know the whole, childhood friend who would of had no other connection in the series otherwise. It was the only relationship that stood out in my mind and made me think huh, what was that about? After the episode had ended.

Last night I watched the comic party special, and felt entirely redeemed with that view point, when basically. The entire special revolved around those two guys being naked in towels running around and more or less ended with them falling to Earth. Together. Still naked. ♥ Well they had towels. But they described themselves as naked! the girls had swimming costumes.

I'm right now watching the first episode of it's sequel Revolution. It revolves entirely around Kazuki and harem girl number 5? 6? Ayu. And is very sweet.

However as all of that is happening, I have this revelation:

World War III seems to have begun in October 2001, so unfortunately one's main concern has now to be less how to develop one's career as a computer programmer and more how to survive the next five years or so. One should think carefully about what the present military activity could lead to, and which places might be safer than others in the coming years. Of course, one has to eat, and computer programming is still a good way to make a living, but in times of war societies have different priorities than in times of peace, so things will become a lot different to what we have been used to. Everyone has to ensure their survival in their own way, but those who think in advance about what might happen will have a better chance of living to see what sort of postwar world comes about.

I see all this going back and forth on gender issues and oppression... It feels kind of weird when people say there are no guys in fandom. Because I think that they're are - just they tend to group together and stick together, just like the girls do.

I can't help but think people are making a massively big deal about guys being in fandom, as well, just odd.

Because when I started participating in online fandom, it did feel like there were mostly guys. I was in art communities for a little, while then went into roleplaying, then into fanfiction, then meta type sections. There's always been girls online, but when I was in art communities and roleplaying it did feel like the majority were guys, and the few that were girls, often pretended to be guys, or hid their gender as the default of being a guy, because it was just so much easier to avoid being harassed.

Worst idea ever? - Or Yet Another Anime Sequel
Mai Hime Destiny. Complete with "corpse fucking"
Let me count the elements for wank.
1. It is a sequel to Mai hime. They are touching more directly the original, same characters not just people with the same face.

2. It's been seemingly merged with Mai Otame. Which means people who ignored Mai Otame and wanted to ignore it can't, if they want to at least check out the official version of what happened to the characters they cared about.

3. Very very popular character, star of first show, played a role in second, a part in third, is dead. Let the fannish wailing begin.

4. Fanservice? Oh you better believe there's fanservice and 14 year olds with giant bouncy chests.

5. Usual grumbles of yet another cashcow.

6. Gundam reference that certain anime fans are just a tinsy bit bitter about.

Already wank in the comments with how Sunrise is messing up their merchandise, "wonders why they can hardly make a buck in the US market.", wailing, wanting to know if it's a joke, all of the above elements, declarations that Mai Hime and Mai Otame are the greatest shows to grace us from Japan and accusations of deleted comments, OMG OPPRESSION is claimed for if you dare to suggest that the show might not be so bad! Accusations that Mitsuo and Chiaki (a director and a screenwriter) are self-inserting in their shows whether this blog article is real or not.

I suppose when dark_kagome_666 realised that Sueric just didn't cut it, she decided to bring Inuyasha on into the new level of crazy.

I've met Kagome Otakuin before, bloody terrifying introduction, once you realised that they were serious but now I'm starting to think that maybe the couple of Inuyasha "satanists" I've met, might not of been joking after all.

I wonder if this is a cover up for some of the other wank that's going around... Especially with some of the latest manga chapters, or if it's to make Inuyasha fandom more exciting now that it seems to have quiten down and the anime doesn't seem to be getting as much hype/interest.
