So yeah, I first heard about this movie way back in the 1990s, but never really desired to watch it. But then, as she usually manages to do about movies like this, ayala_atreides convinced me to watch it. :D So we ended up watching it together last night, and it was a really neat and funny and cool movie! :)

- I wasn't crazy about the car designs, and other aspects of the futuristic New York seemed a bit hokey to me. Bruce Willis with blond hair - eh, no, he does not look that good with blond hair. :P
- But the acting was great! Especially the over-the-top Ruby Rhod XD But I've got to hand it to Milla Jovovich. Her ability to speak this completely artificial language made up for the movie and carry it off as though she really did speak it natively was mind-boggling. (NGL she was also quite good-looking in the movie :P )
- Also, the extrasolar planet CGI was great! I loved the flying spaceship over Fhloston Paradise! :D The skyliner was interestingly reminiscent of the Luxury Liners in Freelancer, as well.
- There are some cultural referents I finally got after watching the movie; some fanfics I remember reading made a bit more sense after seeing it. :P

So yeah, fun movie! :) \o/
