Went to dentists today, and they sorted out all fillings and the extraction that I needed on the left side of face. Not too back, only took about half an hour or so, and they must have used a load of stuff to numb it as it's still a little numb and tingly now, and it's been about five and a half hours. I go back again on the 12 of December when they'll either do the white fillings or the right side extractions. I'll guess I'll find out on the day.

In rather more fun stuff I've signed up for a couple of fics on rounds_of_kink one is a fairly fluffy Jack/Ianto h/c fic and the other is a decidely unfluffy D/s Jack/Owen one.

Guess I'd better get writting as the first one, the Jack/Ianto needs to be ready for posting on the 2nd of December, and the Jack/Owen one on the 9th.

Work's AGM today, was for a lack of a better word, odd. I expected it to be boring (I've been to five of these things) and some parts of it were (because honestly local government pension statistics -not much is every going to make those fun) however what I wasn't expecting was the weird.

The weird in question was the speaker before we had to do the so called 'corporate game' He was supposed to be laying out the reasons why the state pension age was, in 2040, being raised to 68, and presumably he was supposed to do this in a sensible, believable manner. I doubt what he was supposed to do was start talking dodgy, improbable science about how with all the techological and medical advances currently being made that all the the people in the room who were under thirty would probably live until they where over 300.

He left to much baffled applause, and a complete absense of questions.

After this point we were then all handed a packet of spaggetti and bag of marshmallows and told we had 15 minutes to build the tallest tower we could with it. Mine was 36 inches and the second tallest. This exercise in odd was apparently the 'corporate game' and I still have no idea why we did it, who decided that we should do it or what the point of it was.

So that was the AGM for this year, on Monday I'll find out if the office's server move was successful or it like the trial run of moving it, means that we have no computer network until they find out what's gone wrong with it.

I think I will be more surprised it does works first time that if it doesn't. I think everybody is expecting it to go wrong as just about everybody of any importance or responsibility for it seems to have booked next week off - funny that ;)

Less than an hour now until the LJ servers go offline for hopefully only four hours. I've now got everything on my journal backed up just in case.

Here's hoping that LJ's server move goes better than the server move current going on where I work. That is they tried to move them yesterday, it went very wrong and we spent the morning without any access to the company network - I am so looking forward to Friday when they are going to try it again.

The most recent fic that I wrote, Moonlight and Memories, got rec'ed over on janto_recs I don't think any of my fic's got rec'ed before so that cheered me up lots before I had to got off to the dentists.

I can't (or at least I shouldn't) complain about going to the dentist as I've had to wait the best part of two years for there to be an NHS dentist in the area that was accepting new patients for me to register at. Anyway three extractions (all molars so that's going to fun when they do it) and six fillings for £45 really isn't anywhere near as pricey as I thought it was going to be.

Going back on the 26th so that they can start doing either the extractions or the fillings. The dentist said that he'd do all the work over three or four appointments.

The one thing that did surprise me a bit at the dentist was how young the dentist looked, and I've got the sneaking suspicion that he may have even be younger than me. I must be getting old ;)

Untitled: My 1st ever TW fic, written before countrycide aired. Ianto is alone in the countryside or is he.

Kidnapped - Ianto is abducted by alien/aliens, but manages to save himself before the team arrive.

Bad day: Set while Jack is away post End of Days. The team investigate something, it was going to be some form of alien chemical thing in bottle water or fruit juice that the aliens were trying to alter people with so that they became sort of alien hybrid thing, but it just doesn't seem to want to work. Will be AU.

Cross purposes: Owen finds Jack with a handcuffed Ianto in his office and draws the wrong conclusions. Seems very dark at first, but isn't really.

Future fic: Dark little bit post-apocalyptic Jack/Ianto ficlet.

Untitled: Jack gets to meet Ianto's family under less than ideal circumstances, the death of one of Ianto's relatives. Ianto's family don't approve of him and Jack.

Flooded: The Hub goes into lockdown when water gets into the power cables. Ianto gets to fix it all, snark at people and look good in a wet shirt. This fic has almost no plot.

Awkward conversations: Ianto wakes up in Jack's bed after an evening out drinking.

Coughs and sneezes: Ianto has a cold, Jack is nice to him.

I don't often do these sort of posts, but theres nobody else around, and i've just found out my brother's been taken into hospital with a suspected blood clot in his lungs.

Also to share the Spooks: code 9 love I have ventured into the world of being the mod of a comm. code_9 

Why is there no Spooks: Code 9 fic to be found?  Not on LJ or on FF.net. I just don't get it.

I suppose it might be because it's only showing on BBC3.

It has a cute geeky guy (Charlie), a doctor (Rob) who's so like Owen (TW just won't be the same without him) that I have a hard job not thinking it's him. It also has Georgia Moffett in it (I like her much better in this than in DW)

Have put a couple of Spooks; code 9 prompts up at rounds of kink along with some torchwood ones, in the hope that fic might appear for it. They are still accepting new prompts until the 15th, then from the 19th people will start claiming them to post in October.

I'm going to try to write something for it, I need to be writing more again, but nothing seems to be turning out how I want it do. 

With the Code 9 thing I may be kinda biased about liking this show as at lot of the exterior shot of the building where the spooks are based is right next to the bus stop I use to get home from work.

The fact that it's filmed here in Bradford was one of the reasons that I tuned in - that and one of the TV guides billed it as a cross between Torchwood and Skins.

Characters available: Everybody from Torchwood series 1 (apart from Jack and Ianto, they’re already taken). Also the Doctor, Martha Jones, Martha's family.
Information: Plot based PSL starting from when Jack returns after the year that never was.
Other information: This is slash, femmeslash and het friendly, storylines might get quiet dark. Please feel free to suggest storylines that you'd like to play out. I have some ideas for plotlines the main one involving Mpreg (from an experiment rather than it just happened) with no happy ending and aliens using a fertility clinic as a front for genetic compatibility testing.

Okay I know this isn't part eleven of a Song as old as Time, it is mostly written up now and should be posted by tomorrow afternoon and apologies for the delay.

This ficlet came out of nowhere while I was listening to my music player on random, and demanded to be written before I could get on with anything else.

Just been trawling through the bbc press releases, trying to find if there is anything more on the newly commissioned series of Being Human (there wasn't anything new by the way) and found this

Basically the BBC are going to remake the 1970's sci-fi/drama Survivors, and Freema Agyeman is going to be in it, with a fairly major part by the looks of things - the part she's got is one of character who was a main character in all of the original three series of Survivors.  It seems like it's filming at the moment for broadcast later this year.

Wonder what this means for her being in later episodes of Doctor Who and or Torchwood - maybe she'll just come back and do guest appearances, that would be good.
