I really hate having to pay attention to politics, it's so boring. Which is why I have those little e-mails sent to me from the Dems, even though they're pretty dumb. They're just so... excitable and poorly written.

The DADT thing didn't pass. You probably heard.

Next month I'll be voting in Virg for Governor here, looks like. Apparently the Republican ticket is pretty damn anti-choice. Suddenly the billboards with chubby babies saying "Elections have consequences" mean something. Funny how we don't have those supporting welfare.

Definitely not okay with these two. Perhaps Calley is a tea party crazy Snyder has pulled in to appeal to the radical right? But I don't know a lot about the ballot so I'll be educating myself in the next few weeks. Might volunteer too. "Political activist" is such a snazzy title.

Some guy I know basically said he doesn't think women should be allowed more than three abortions. He immediately backtracked when I just kept saying "What? WHAT?" but he, of course, had a story about a teenager who had eight abortions before she was eighteen, and my god, wasn't that terrible? Uh, sure. If that's actually true, and not just gossip. But it's still her choice, not yours.

Anyway, my views on abortion and fetuses in general has changed so much it's astounding and I feel a bit like an alien when I talk to other people about it.

I'm still a waitress :\ But at least I have a job, amirite?

I'm going to start working on a new design for my journal. I'm getting pretty tired of the comics one. I'm thinking Farscape. Or MST3K. Does anyone have any ideas, or has seen something cool around? These days I don't have any really good graphics program, so I might just grab someone's pre-made design and tweak it a bit :\

Also I'm going to start removing icons. Not because I have to, or anything, but because I didn't use half of them as it is. Jsyk.

I love capitalism. This is the truth. I love things, I love buying things, I love having things. This is bad according to The Gospel According to Larry, but that was a bad book and capitalism isn't just great for having things. It's the variety! The creativity of product!

I walked through Target today. A Justice League notebook? Shiny! A plastic castle cake topper with electronic candle inside? Clever! Stuff I can cut out and stick on my walls - "come alive with your own creativity" with guitar drawings and "you rock"? Excellent! Filing cabinets with curly patterning and baskets and baskets filled with one dollar items like Care Bear markers and butterfly shaped silicone cupcake pans and tiny painted garbage pails? Yes!

But magazine racks that don't fit binders? why have you forsaken me, capitalism??

Seriously, I've been to four different stores and nobody has something I can stick between my monitor and the wall and also hold some bloody three-ring binders so I can organize my writing. I only need one more inch in length and they would have fit comfortably. Why, why, why? >:(

I have a roommate now, a job (it's lacking hours, though), and my finals are nearly done. I think I'll gain ten pounds from all this junk food I've been eating while I cram. And it's winter here! Snow is upon the ground. My car is squealing in pain. I have no snow tires, so I almost made friends with the ditch a few times. My tennis shoes are soaked through and my skin is really itchy. My cat and my roommate's cat are starting to tolerate each other. Also, if I don't make up with my dad soon, he's canceling Christmas.

Sadly he is not kidding.

so my life's a mixed bag these days but I feel pretty awesome. And tired.

I was just at the library, and I could have sworn that someone wrote, "Love the Sinner, Hate the Sith," on the pavement outside.

But it was just that regular 'sin' version. The nefarious Dark Lord's grip on my college campus remains unquestioned.

Well, I now have a job lined up and a roommate moving in starting tonight. I also have three papers due next week. I'm a little bit stressed, and I'm not sure how to calm down. Besides cleaning and exercising that is. Deep breaths, self, deep breaths!

I also picked up Nano this year! Did anyone else? I'm like, four days behind D: For a while I just couldn't concentrate on anything, and I barely wrote. This cold weather just makes me want to curl up in bed and do nothing. Bah!

Anyway, could be so much worse. Dark Forces is keeping me sane. How are you folks?

Sup, flist! It's been a while. How's it going?

Well, my parents came up this weekend so my Dad and I could "talk" our problems out. It was hellish and horrific.

A few weeks ago I found some old Harry Potter fanfic I wrote before the 6th book came out. So that would make it... 4 or so years old? yeah. And it's not that good, but it made me laugh so I'm posting it here. And no, I don't remember what the plot was, besides there was a Mary Sue (DiGald character) and she was hunting the creature that was after Hermione? And it was Harry/Susan Bones. I think. Idk. This bit's only seven pages long, and I'm pretty sure I never actually wrote the rest.
