This will be one of the most awesome posts I will ever write.

Mostly because I'm hardly writing at all, and where there is no text, there will be pictures of naked men. I've been in a rotten (ahahahah...ha... :( ) mood lately and naked men make me happy, so I thought I would spread the love. Plus I can now just scroll through them, again and again *_*

The three-legged puppy is named Lexi; she came in with a broken leg, and because of the break's location, they had to amputate. We currently have ratties at the shelter (we had ferrets and budgies too for a while) but they're always sleeping when I'm there.

So here I finally am, parked in front of my computer with nachos and poor self-made melted cheese. It was full day and I'm tired, and my feet kind of hurt. But at the time I'm writing this, there's still time to vote (here in MI, at least!) - so if you haven't: VOTE.

I suck at long coherent posts.

Yesterday called up Obama campaign to see if they needed drivers today to get people into the polling centers. They didn't; Donna (and I totes thought of you, Donna, but thankfully not JDM) told me they needed canvassers to remind first time voters to get to the polls in Flint. I waffled for a bit - I'm shy and intentionally stayed away from campaign volunteering.
Eventually decided yes, I would, early this morning after voting.
Voting was a piece of cake - except that I hadn't researched judges so I left them blank. I feel bad, but I'm just not going to vote for someone I'm not sure of. The guy working the machine was super cute with a long blond ponytail. So fine. Voting altogether took less than fifteen minutes, but there was a steady stream of people coming and going at the middle school.
Finally got my laptop fixed by one of my dad's co-workers. A few weeks (months?) ago I put a way too small memory stick from my camera into the data slot and it stayed put. Even with the computer reading the stick it couldn't eject it. But Mark got that settled and NOW I KNOW BETTER. Yesterday I also talked to Compaq about getting rid of the Blue Screen of Death so here's hoping their instructions work.
Met with other volunteers (about 30 in the end) to get on a bus to Flint - no, Detroit. Last minute change but fine.
Free lunch and dinner! This is where I got my nachos from. Plus free swag, and now I finally have an Obama poster to proudly post in my room.
Knocking on doors was relatively uneventful - people were really friendly and most had already voted. Absentee, or very early that morning. And I would've had plenty of doorhangers anyway so I gave them out to kids and stuff. We walked for a couple of hours - no big deal.
Kyle was my partner and we talked about college (he's in grad) and generally got along. It was so weird listening to him, because he sounded exactly like this guy I knew from high school, who had moved from NJ to MI during middle school. And yes, Kyle was from NJ! And I'm not talking a stereotypical NJ accent either - but apparently it's a northern NJ accent. Kyle didn't realize it either, but I mean, I know Yoopers and Trolls talk differently from each other too. Who knew Jason's voice was an accent? (And an attractive one, might I add)
Then we went home. There were only two houses we couldn't find. It was pretty successful. On the way back we listened to NPR (bacteria in your stomach affect your weight gain! Who knew?) and when McCain's voice came on as part of their coverage, people booed, but even more people and more loudly booed when Sarah Palin started talking. And it was a diverse group too - the preppy rich girls behind me were booing Palin the most and sneering at her accent.

And it was weird, but my dad was generally positive about me going campaigning for Obama. My mom was really positive. My dad said a few days ago that he thought I was getting depressed again (never really stopped, but it's better now), so that's partly it. Don't know who they voted for and I'm sure as hell not going to ask.

Now if I only can get to watch Stewart's and Colbert's live coverage tonight. Oh yeah, and one guy was so happy to see me and to vote for Obama today he invited me to a party at a club in Detroit. It was so funny.

No free food (besides bag lunch - Starbucks, Ben & Jerry's and Krispy Kremes were offering shit) but it's cool.

Well, last night's debate was definitely the best of all of them. Very exciting, and very enraging. Before each debate I've sworn to myself not to watch them, but each time I do anyway, no matter how many times I throw off my headphones in disgust. Which is something I did more often this time than in any of the other ones.

The best parts:

Bob Scheiffer, the moderator who could.
Getting Acorn and Ayers moved through. McCain's hot-tempered attacks looked more petty than not, especially when he emphasized that Obama was being the hurtful one with t-shirts and Lewis' comments and didn't personally care about an 'old, washed-up terrorist.' I see no reason Obama needs to apologize for Lewis' statements and nobody seems to know what t-shirts he's referring to (perhaps the 'Sarah Palin is a cunt' ones?). But in the end I hope this will finally lay the Ayers scandal to rest - how can McCain supporters continue to whine that Obama is not held accountable when McCain does so on national television to no positive result?
The zero exchange and McCain's complete bafflement.
Obama's abortion comments.
Obama's closing comments. I was watching CNN and the Republican lines went way up during this part, as he spoke about unity and sacrifice. This article really shows that Obama gets it when he talks about the cultural divide.

The worst parts:

McCain's abortion comments. MSNBC believes this will come back to haunt him. CNN didn't give a crap as far as I watched; I don't think they even mentioned it. In any case, McCain's sneers at the "women's health" and misconstruing pro-choice as pro-abortion pissed me off rightly.
When given opportunity to attack, Obama usually didn't. He had some strong moments ("Yes, I do understand, John.") but he missed a big one questioning Palin's qualifications, and what her appointment says about McCain's judgment. He was often too kind - like in the first debate he would say, "I agree with John," but as McCain's behavior was less graceful, Obama probably looked better, not weak.
Dodging questions. They both did it. It was annoying.
"You're rich now, Joe! Heheheheheheh." Does McCain want to be president or the head cheerleader in high school?
Just McCain's behavior in general. He came out stronger than before, but he was even more of a crotchety, angry and smirking old man than ever before. I'm not seeing the "honorable John McCain" anymore.
McCain's closing comments. "Vote for me! Vote for me! I haven't got a plan, but I've been serving so long and so has my family so I think I deserve to be in the White House! Vote for me!" Just ridiculous.

Anyway, here's an awesome game about the Presidential Campaign. I've won only once on Hard :(

Now I'm moving on to the image map, and thanks to this video and the wonderfully delicious web developer add-on, I've got it down except for one thing: in the tutorial you define the links first using html, and then you change the style to CSS to create the imap. Uhh... the overwrite area in S2 allows just CSS, right?

The only stuff I've found proves that HTML is needed, while CSS just makes everything a bit prettier.

ETA: Oh, and I'm going to rec Zoho, because you can do a lot of things online through it (Word, Powerpoint, Wiki, etc) and it's just neat.

Flist, help. What sort of word programs do you have? I still have Microsoft Word 2000 on this computer, and I despise it, simply because it's ugly. Shallow, I know. I like Microsoft 2007, but I was wondering if anyone had any different suggestions.

I'm slowly but surely moving my jf layout into a new direction. Yes, the header is still undone, but the header is actually up, so I am pleased. Now I just have to figure out how to snag Sep's link image-map idea and get rid of the... top box with the 'recent entries,' 'friends,' and so on and replace it with something like this:
