Huh. No one has yet posted the SPN fandom breakdown relating to this past episode to CW or F_W.

Should I, shouldn't I...

Essentially, the episode was "A Very Meta Supernatural"-- it involved some guy writing novels that were pretty much novelizations of all the episodes (deliberately written to sound like bad fanfic, when read out loud). Sam and Dean obvs have to track him down and figure out how he knows everything about them.

There's a scene where the publisher/fangirl challenges their knowledge, and talks about how pretty they are when they cry, and another where they discover that there's an online fandom. There's specific reference to slash-- Duck calls it "sick", because LOL brothers.

Half of fandom thought it was hilarious, and the other half is having the vapors because they feel so violated.

I thank my lucky stars that it was the episode I came out of hibernation for (a friend's been trying to get me to watch Smallville, and I just sort of... stayed put) because posts like this and this made it worth my while.

Also because I'm pretty sure that was the first time the term "slash" has been used on a tv show.

Oh my ever-loving god. That's just...I have no words. That's just amazing.

Post this, it's sort of glorious.
