"We're never talking about that. Ever," Matt grumped. Nathan straightened up with a grimace, trying to work the kinks out of his back and nodded.
Three hours later, they were at a press conference Matt had helped organize. Nathan was less than halfway through his speech about evolved humans when three shots rang out and Nathan crumpled to the floor in his brother's arms.
Peter was all tears, and it might have been slightly mean, but after "Well, this is going to be a bitch to clean up," Matt's second thought was "Oh good, he won't ever talk about it."

I find it a little bewildering when people I know from elsewhere join (or are members of) my America's Next Top Model community. I mean, yes, topmodel is the biggest ANTM communtiy on LJ, but the show is my guilty little pleasure and I never expect other fandom people to be interested in it. I get all weirded out.
In other news, I'm almost done with all my fic exchange fics! jbbs was finished on Tuesday night and I've just about finished my Yuletide. (If any of y'all are online right now and willing to do a quick read-through for me before I have to submit it at 11:55 EST, I'd love you forever-- email me at ryuutchi @ gmail . com. | More Supernatural rambling |

On the not nearly so emo front, I find myself pleased.
You see, I have one friend who's nerdly but not enough so to get into online fandom. She asked me to introduce her to Supernatural, which I did (in my own crazy way that involves avoiding as many of the plot-filled episodes as possible). She finally got away from me by scarpering off to New York and watching episodes with someone else.
So she finally got around to watching the current season epiosdes-- She IMed me out of the blue two days ago to tell me that she'd watched the first episode with Bela and, I quote, "I think it might be my favorite episode ever!!!!!!!!"
I feel mildly vindicated. You see, fandom? There are people who watch the show for pleasure! And they enjoy the new characters becasue they're not nearly so invested in the status quo. |

God, Supernatural fandom, just STOP. Please! I was already in over-analyze mode from thinking thinky thoughts about race and gender in Heroes and comics and stuff and now THIS?
Okay, yes. Katie Cassidy got caught underage drinking. Yes, she gave them someone else's name. When called on it she immediately apologized and said she'd done it because she was freaking out about her career.
Okay, yes. Her mother said that Kattie's a "high profile Hollywood actress". Yes it was a dumb thing to say. It doesn't mean Katie thinks that. It means her mother said something stupid that certainly reads to me as just being overprotective.
So why the FUCK am I seeing calls for recasting the character? Why are people cursing her out for it? Why are people acting like she's totally spoiled for saying SOMETHING STUPID? Why is this damn fandom even paying attention to it? She's two weeks away from her 21st birthday, wasn't driving drunk or driving in a car with someone who was drunk.. This should have been a "well, shit, that was dumb. Oh well, back to the porn" situation not a situation that calls for fifty or sixty "she's a stupid spoiled princess and I hope they kill her off on the show" comments.

I saw Millyfan bitching that the producers of Heroes were homophobic for giving Hiro a love interest (however boring). I rolled my eyes and moved on without yelling at her for being a flaming idiot.
But the stupid seems to be propagating. It recently spread to the MyTwoHeroes comm-- specifically this post here. Summarized, the OP sems to think that because Matt and Mohinder haven't really been getting many scenes together and the writers have been focusing on other storylines the "writer's clue[d] into the subtext and ha[d] a big ol' hetero normative freak out."
Guys, seriously. I love the pairing, I do. But Matt and Mohinder were really NOT FUCKING on the show! They never were. There was no hint that they were, so there's nothing to "backtrack" from!
I tried to talk some sense (by which I mean I tl;dr'ed down there at the bottom), but I think I may be the only one on the comm who's willing to mention the whole "plot" thing. |
