OH SHIT. My desire to constantly snack is, apparently, genetic. This means I'll either have to fight it constantly, or give in and spend a lot of money on food that doesn't really do anything for me. And gain weight, but honestly, I care more about my wallet these days.

If you have a spare hour ever, I suggest you watch BBC: Horizon - Why Are Thin People Not Fat?. I had a little review written up, but I got to the end and all I can say:

One guy stopped exercising and doubled his caloric intake and put on muscle.

There are some other interesting reactions to removing exercise and eating more, but seriously, he put on muscle, oh my god.

PS. I found this from boredly surfing around a pro-anorexia community. I was looking for a good fat acceptance one, but couldn't find one so checked out that instead. They were pretty upset that their bodies would forever want to be fat--which I can't really blame them for. *points up, sighs*

Dude, the BEST fat acceptance blog/community is Kate Harding's Shapely Prose.

Which reminds me, I keep forgetting to join the forums now that I'm not mostly reading it at work.

I follow that blog religiously, and I was actually thinking of sending her that link.

But there are forums? Where!

It looks like they took the link off of the front page at some point - I had to search for it. (And now I'm registered! \o/ )

And may I add, I'm totally snatching up Kate's book as soon as it's published this spring. I don't read a lot of non-fiction, but even if it ends up collecting dust (which it probably won't), I want to support it and her.

I'm planning on buying the book she contributed to (Feed Me! at least I think she was in it), as soon as I can think of $15 other dollars to spend at Amazon.com. But I personally really like nonfiction.

She's definitely in it, but she's one of several, so I've been wishy-washy on the topic. Nonfiction just really rarely holds my interest past essay-length. I think I have a short attention span these days after too much internet. :P
