And like all intense video game sessions, I kept forgetting to blink. By the end of the night we had phase one down almost flawlessly, and we were making serious progress on phase two. I think our best attempt had him around 75%. We're a few weeks from downing him, so now our focus will be speed killing the rest of Ulduar. 11 bosses in two days so we'll have Thursday to focus on him.

Seriously fun fight, though. After phase one, which is a serious yaaaaaawn for healers.

We still need another tank, though. One of ours kept triggering clouds, and we couldn't get passed p1 till we made one of our DPS respec and take his place.

I had to take myself out for a bit because I just couldn't concentrate on Iron Council. Apparently my replacement wasn't doing any better, so I got a snack and went back in. After two wipes our raid leader was ready to go do an easy boss and be done for the night. But I was feeling much better, so I asked for one more and down they went! We got a recording of the "Event" afterward.

Tonight we'll probably go back to regular modes, we're down to the hard bosses (Freya, Mimiron, General Vezax) and we lost our bloodlust. I found this from boredly surfing around a pro-anorexia community. I was looking for a good fat acceptance one, but couldn't find one so checked out that instead. They were pretty upset that their bodies would forever want to be fat--which I can't really blame them for. *points up, sighs*

My thoughts on LOST so I can stop sharing them in the wank:

The show was awesome when it was a sprinkling of scifi to fuel character interactions. LOST had some really awesome characters, and even the ones they've got left over are pretty cool. Or they would be, but they're more concerned with making us watch them jump through time with not even a hint as to what's going on. But okay, we'll go YMMV and say that hey, some people were more into the scifi thing than the characters.

The scifi stuff is still badly written. It doesn't help that they start a thing, then drop it without any explanation. The smoke monster? Kate's horse? The whispers? The polar bear? Jack's dad? The island's healing abilities? The numbers? The four toed statue? These are pressing questions that I <s>used to</s> want answers to, and the reason why I spent so much time reading theories on the LOSTpedia (and why I just spent 20 minutes surfing around there when I went to make sure I didn't have a memory fail). But instead now we're watching time travel and it's not even the kind of time travel that we saw previously like in the Constant (which was really interesting and clever). Seriously, of 108 mysteries (of varying degrees of scifi-ness), 28 are solved, and the rest are barely being touched on in the current season.

I mean, look, I get that there's no reason to BAW about the scifi, but really, it's just badly written. They seem to have no idea where they're going, or where they came from. We've got our LOSTies running around the jungle, through time, but no whispers? No more mysterious animals yelling people's names? No fucking smoke monster, who showed up (kind of) in the first season and hasn't been explained at all?

. . .This rant just made me really bitter than LOST isn't better. They've got so much good stuff to work with. I'mma go emo somewhere about it and not read that wank anymore.

Oh, also: Kate is obnoxious and I'm really sad that Ana Lucia, Libby, Shannon, and all those other women died (or lost almost all their screen time) but she gets to live.

Fair FW going people: Sorry for getting wanky in the funny. :(

Finally beat Chrono Trigger. Then I forgot that there's probably important ending stuff shoved into the credits, and turned it off. GG, self.

I'm all caught up with Battlestar Galactica, and back to watching it live. HOMG I love this show. Also, old!Starbuck couldn't fit one of "Stardoe"'s giant balls in his sexist mouth so Dirk Benedict can just shut up. (Seriously, what the fuck? Has he never seen the new series, or is he really that insecure in his masculinity?)
