I'm tired of the Top Chef judges using abstract concepts like "heart" and "soul" to describe the dishes. In case they forgot, the rest of us are viewing this on television. We can't eat the food. When you describe concepts like curry powder overpowering things, or a lack of color on the plate, we can understand that just fine. When you venture off into the land of criticising a dish for being "soul-less," well, forgive me for being a Harry Potter fan, but I'd rather not devour a plate full of soul right now.

Honestly, the lj_biz post is kinda tl;dr, and I didn't get all this on the first skim. So, to recap:
- You can get a $30 certificate to benefit a proposal for children's school supplies
- You get to choose which proposal of many to apply it to
- It is no cost to you
- Presumably, you must still have an LJ, which I'm sure many of us do. It doesn't say anything about the paid/unpaid status of your account, that I could find, but I didn't read all the comments
- Non-Americans may participate, however:
- The gifts only benefit American schools
Just to address some of the comment wank taking place in the lj_biz post: yeah, only American schools. I'm American, and I'd still do it if it was only New Zealand schools (or something) benefitting. Also:
- It costs LJ and/or their sponsors money and time, so it can't be all bad
- Deadline to request a certificate (not to "spend" it) is tomorrow, Monday, Oct 1, 5pm Pacific. (1am Tuesday Greenwich or 8pm Monday Eastern)
- A couple people I know have pending proposals for their classes, but no hard data on that yet. Will update when their proposals are up.

It's like HP in a way.

Also, what ever happened to the rock and roll runway music with the crazy guitar riff? I can't remember if it was in season two or not, but it was definitely never in season three. There's still the same Cymbals and Chimes of Suspense and Strummy Acoustics of Win, but what happened to the Rock Distortion and Slide of Good Model Walking or Fabric Flurry?
I still cry when Austin gets auf'd but then I laugh like a maniac during his exit interview.
And speaking of Project Runway, dude, Laura Bennett, I love you. But seriously, what were you thinking at the Emmys? What are you, WHAM!? |

I know Mary is a common name, but I don't think we ever saw any before DH. I'm also aware we got bent over the hood of the car on the Mark Evans deal, but whatever about him.
Mary Macdonald attended Hogwarts with MWPPSL and was in Gryffindor. Mulciber used Dark magic on her. She was presumably friendly with Lily Evans.
Mary Elizabeth Cattermole (no maiden name given, unless it's Elizabeth which seems unlikely) is being interrogated as to her blood status during the trio's Ministry caper in DH. Her parents are greengrocers.

Tim Gunn's Guide to Style: Very special guest next week! They half-assedly tried to pixellate who it is, but it's totally obvious (and I think it is supposed to be) that it is ( spoiler )
America's Next Top Model: Cycle 8 marathon on MTV tomorrow! I haven't seen any of it yet!
Rock of Love: three sloppy messes remain! I think I know who gets eliminated Sunday, when their parents come to visit them and meet Bret. The finale is supposed to have some big shocker ending, but I dunno what.
The Pickup Artist: They're now showing an ad that ( spoiler ) Man, this show is wack.

So I go to a party for my mother in law's birthday today, in a building where we just happened to have a view of the IMAX dome. I take MIL after the party. One of her friends comes with us too.
Bonus: She has never read any of the HP books or seen any of the movies before. LOL!
I already had plans to go tomorrow night. *headdesk* |

Apparently this show is faker than Flavor of Love. Someone found Joe W's MySpace, and it appears he's not only an actor but also everyone's 'dar was not failing them. He also has showed Ron Jeremy his penis or so he claims. That might be true, because he alludes to doing porn.
The main page comments are not bad, they're full of fangirls of the show who bought the whole thing and are offering to "give him the confidence he needs." |
