I have a plot bunny for a Giles/Willow story, but I'm not sure I can write it. So it's up for adoption.
Here's the idea:- Instead of Willow bringing Buffy back in season six, Giles does it. He realized that unless Faith died, no new Slayer would be called. Instead of killing or freeing Faith, he resurrects Buffy.
- This causes Giles to fall back into his old habits from his Ripper days.
- Willow, who looks up to him as her mentor, realizes she needs to be the responsible one.
- Willow saves Giles from the dark magics and possibly saves the wold in the process.
Anyone want to try writing this?

I have gotten absolutely nothing accomplished this week. I have had the head cold from hell. I've gone through a mountain of tissues and a couple bottles of cough medicine. I think I'm finally getting a little better.
I just wanted to post so that everyone knows that I'm still alive.

While I'm posting I might as well ask a question that's been on my mind recently.
Has anyone written any Supernatural/Tru Calling crossovers? I just think that a crossover like that could be very interesting.

I've had a plot bunny for a while now. I haven't been able to write it, and it won't go away. So, I present it here with the hope that it will hop away with someone's muse.
The Watchers' Council is not real. At least the one that Buffy sees - the one with Quentin Travers - is not real. It's a front to hide the real Council which happens to be run by Giles. It's been set up to draw the attention away from Giles and the real Watchers. Giles is keeping track of all the Potentials while Quentin and "the Council" only know about Slayers once they are activated.
This is all fine until Quentin and his friends begin to suspect things. So, whenever Quentin or his men show up in Sunnydale, it's because they are trying to infiltrate Giles' Council of Watchers. Finally, The First destroys the fake Council, and Giles helps the group in Sunnydale defeat The First.
This is how Giles is so easily able to restart the Council and be in charge of it.
So, I hope I haven't confused you all with this. It's very difficult to get out of my head and put into words. That's why I've haven't been able to write it.
I hope someone can take this idea and turn it into a working story. I'd love to read it.

This is a question for those of you that write original characters and/or original fiction.
How do you choose character names? Do you choose names first, and then develop the character? Do you develop the character first, and then choose a name? I'm wondering if the name helps create the personality, or if the personality determines the name.
I've always been bad at finding names for my characters. All the names I can usually think of have some personal connection to them. They're always names of friends, ex-boyfriends, co-workers, ex-friends, enemies, or names from tv/movies/books. I don't want my impressions of people with those names to influence my characters.
So, how do you find names?

From what I can tell, most people who don't read/write fanfiction have the idea that fanfiction exists for only one purpose. They seem to think that fanfic only exists as a way to get characters into sexual situations. Now, I agree that there are fanfic writes who have this as their only reason for writing. That's fine, but I know many readers/writers that want more from a story.
So, I have some questions for readers and writers of fanfiction.
If you prefer romantic pairing(s):
- Are there reasons you like the pairing(s) over gen fic? Do you read gen fic at all?
- Are they canon pairings, or do you like unconventional couples?
- What made you first attracted to the pairing(s)?
- Do you read/write gen fic stories, or do you avoid them?
- Do you read/write stories with only your favorite couple(s) in them, or are other characters welcome in these stories?
If you prefer gen fic:
- Do you still read/write pairing fics, or do you avoid them?
- Do you have characters or pairing that are a turn off for you? Is that why you prefer gen fic?
- Would you read friendship fics that don't lead to romantic situations?
- Do you consider cannon pairings to be a part of gen fic, or do you consider gen fic to be no pairings at all?
- Do you prefer stories about one or two characters, or do you like to have a group (or all) characters involved?
Ok, I'm sure there are other questions that I could have asked but can't think of right now. So, feel free to comment with additional thoughts along with answers to any of the questions. Thanks.

I noticed something recently. We only see Halloween themed episodes in seasons 2, 4 & 6. I'm not sure if it was intentional or if the writers had a reason.
I'm wondering if there are any fics out there that take place on Halloween during seasons 1, 3, 5 or 7. I know that Halloween season one would actually be before the beginning of the show, but there is still possibilities for stories there.
So, are there any fics out there like that? I'm not picky about pairings or characters. I'd just like to know if others have thought of this before me.

I've been watching season seven, and now I've got some observations and questions.
At one point, Kennedy says she was an only child. She also talks about her house that has "wings" and her summer home that doesn't. Okay. I can kind of believe that.
Then we see a flashback with Robin Wood and his mother. She mentions that they can't go home (not safe there), so she had to take Robin to her Watcher's house.
I was always under the impression that Slayers or potentials were taken from their homes at an early age. I've always thought they lived with their Watchers.
Is this just a fanfic idea? In canon, do Slayers stay with their families? Do the Watchers just live close to their Slayers?
I always thought that Buffy was unique in that she lived with her family, but after watching season seven again, I'm not so sure.
Anyone have any opinions on this?

Most people know me because of my fanfic, my websites, and my award sites.
My fanfic is mostly centered around Buffy and Giles from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My fics may be found at Bodice Ripper, Bodice Ripper eFiction, and at my LJ. Bodice Ripper and Bodice Ripper eFiction are my fanfic archives for stories with Giles in them.
My award sites are the Bodice Ripper Awards and the Serenity on the Hellmouth Awards.
