It's really weird to see Canada being mentioned so much on UFB.
Today I was listening to the radio about the WBC being kept out of Canada because we weren't going to tolerate people coming here cause shit and hatespeech.
So anyway, a guy calls in and is all 'Free speech is more important than this one family's grief and that's why I'm against that!'
And person being interviewed by the radio program (a lawyer, I think?) went and schooled him hard on what freedom of expression (we are not America, goddamnit) really entails and how hatespeech at a private function was most certainly not part of it.
Then I got to listen to a little old lady encounter what the WBC was for the first time. She was just horrified. So except for free speech dude, it was just people calling in to explain how horrifying this all was. All elderly too, by the sounds of it. That's kinda cool.
I have spent hundreds on frames today. Wish me luck while I figure out how to put them on everything. |
