My favorite chapter was "There She Goes Again." The whole concept of the eroticization of mental illness in women is very interesting and disturbing. Weirdly, I never got the supposed "In Praise of" part she had in the title, you know? All the examples she talked about, to me, showed the sadness of the roles women are forced into - none of it really talked about being difficult as being empowering at all.
And Wurtzel is so self-absorbed that it got in the way of a lot of what she was saying. |
