I am beginning to believe that the stupidity of my students is rubbing off. I have been attempting to make a new potion. However, all attempts to date have resulted in failure.
It's quite distressing.
Perhaps it is getting to be that time when I need to quit teaching and move onto other pursuits. Perhaps potion-making full time. That idea has possibilities. No idiot children. No one, really. That idea definitely has merit.
In any case, I need to go to Diagon Alley soon. My potion making has depleted some stores of the herbs I keep at Hogwarts.

This newest batch of students is worse than the last and, Merlin forbid, they make Neville Longbottom look like a genius. I am surprised that my classroom is still standing after all the things they have done. To be completely honest, I am shocked that Hogwarts is still standing after their mindboggling displays of complete and utter stupidity.
Even Potter was smarter in his first year.

Neville Longbottom seems to have created a black hole of intelligence. Every year since that class has graduated, the students are becoming less intelligent if that is possible. I'm afraid to even let this newest group near their cauldrons for fear that they will do something of such inexplicable stupidity that someone will become hurt.
I must remind myself to strength the wards on the dungeons. I usually do such as a precautionary measure, I think this time it's insurance.
