I've been having a very interesting trawl through my fannish websites usage stats.
It is as I've suspected for a long time. Pictures are popular. Music and movies and pix are way ahead in the hit sweepstakes. I'll get better screencaps going for the early ones I've completed once I have the Sweeney capped.
I can also see that people are reading a few of my stories, but I never get ant comments. And it's the MFU stories that people are reading, nothing else. Weird.
May as well not bother posting the things anymore.

I admit it, I'm a twilight h8tr. I do think books that end with the stupid annoying 'heroine' getting married to the 'prince/glowing vampire/this unattainable guy' while just continuing to be stupid and irritating deserved to be mocked relentlessly.
I hate Rose for being an entitled cunt and leading people to believe that being an entitled cunt gets you rewarded. Much as I loathe this story and how it leads people to think it's ok to give up your inner self for 'love'. The girl is pathetic and plays on that patheticness. I don't like people who use others and manipulate others in this way and it irks me to see it glorified.
Gah, no wonder I never read YA fiction when I was a kid. If it was all like this romance bullshit I'd have given up reading altogether.

OMG watching Ocean's 13.
The music. Really good.
Then I hear something extremely familiar...
Dice Men. Only it's not called Dice Men where I know it. It's a KPM piece from the Sweeney. And The Professionals. And Mr. Holmes doesn't seem to credit it. Very naughty.
More in a bit. Yep it's Bora by Simon Haseley, not Dice Men and in the final credits there's nothing citing KPM or Mr. Haseley
Dice Men
and
Bora
I left a review on Amazon but who do you complain to, really?

Interesting the post in metafandom by dodger_winslow.
Its very true that getting feedback jogs the mind in many ways. On the rare occasions I have got any, I do find myself looking through the story and seeing what the commentor was commenting on. Or simply rereading. And it's absolutely true that it brings back a little spark.
I've realised I don't post any stories anymore. It doesn't mean I'm not writing them, I'm just not posting them. Half the time I don't even finish them, as such. I have enough there to remind me of the movie in my head that I saw but not enough for an outside reader to see the same.
I guess I really am turning into someone who writes only for myself.

I wonder why all of a sudden everyone is jumping on the Kristalnacht yo yos. I told them nearly two months ago they shouldn't use that as a name and no one else had anything to say. Why now is everyone frothing?
And boy are they incredible entitled arseholes. (The game mods)

Wow IJ really boomed.
I wish Squeaky would holler when he needs help. I know people who get deals on Dell Servers and could have hooked him up. Also if he'd say his hosting requirements, I'm sure we'd be able to get him hooked up as well. It drives me nuts when people think fans are techno clods.
That and his host needs a swift kick up the arse. Not backing up everyday? WTF? I'd demand money back.

Where is all this race stuff coming from so suddenly? My mind is boggling.
I never know what gender anyone is on the net, let alone anything else about them. Nor, actually, do I give a shit.About the demographics of who's on the other end I mean.

Watched Hot Fuzz again.
I'm still howling. I love those lads. They know exactly who they were writing for and how to carry it off superbly.
I was still expecting Jim Broadbent to be yelling "Guv" though. My bad, I know. And Timothy Dalton. <3 He is so completely shameless it is a joy to watch. Actually pretty much everyone in that was utterly shameless, so it was hard to say who was having the most fun. Probably Edward Woodward. Mad as a brush in this.
The shootout was love.
I hope these two go there again. The sofa moments were superb, and I know they aren't adverse to the tease.

Oh Keith Allen, how do I adore you?
He's publicly stated that he's playing the Sherif as if he had a gay crush on Robin.
I respect you Robin, not just as a man but as a secret agent... oh wait, wrong show. :P

Something interesting I learned on an SCA list:
"http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ15a.html Has the details. But any work that had its copyright renewed for second 28 year term prior to Jan 1st 1950 will have expired by now. And everything copyrighted before Jan 1st, 1923 would have to be renewed by the 1950 date or lapse. The window for things copyrighted between 1923 and 1977 is 95 years, so the first starts lapsing at 2019, if they owners did their renewals correctly. Things copyrighted after 1978, get the full life plus 70 years. or 95 years if it's a corporate author.
The short story is, if it has a copyright date before Jan 1st, 1923, the copyright is lapsed."

| Rose Red 2007 |
[13 Dec 2007|08:08pm] |

BPAL description: The perfected winter rose, dew covered and freshly cut.
In the bottle: Just like a bouquet of roses fresh from the florist.
Wet: exactly the same.
Dry: exactly the same. This started out quite loud, then as it dried, calmed down a lot.
Summary: Strong initial throw then down to a perfect just there enough level. Fair amount of lasting power but I used barely a swipe because I couldn't wait.
This is so a multiple big bottle purchase for me, This is exactly the type of Rose I love and I need tons because I will wear tons. And Unlike the Jo Malone single note, I am not sneezing, just repeatedly sniffing my wrist and drooling...

Laughing now because GJ no longer responds.
I backed everything up days ago, when this all first went down big. What were people thinking?
I'm sad tho because it was a great RP tool and until the second influx, fairly stable.
This box must be unattended in some basement somewhere and is finally frying. I had that happen with a favoured BBS many years ago. The box was left to run until it died and no one was told. We all found out later. Sad.
Still, this had been some time in coming and I'm bolloxed that people didn't back up when they saw issues first pop up. Stop whinging in news and get to it. Geez.
But with this happening and the severe increase at IJ and I hear commiejournal, it tells me that LJ has finally caused people to leave. In force. This isn't a bunch of people zipping in, claiming journals and zipping out, this is people coming in and using every day. They've moved. YAY.
Now if someone really gets that fandom server up, they could be getting a lot of business.

well IJ isn't loading tonight.
I guess the exodus from GJ and LJ has swamped them too.
Dude, if JF was open for new accounts, it'd be under too.

Well it looks like LJ has been sold again. The asshats at 6A did indeed sell it to SUP, that russian company that they'd split all the Russian language users off into some time ago, And boy were those users pissed. And boy was SUP not much better than 6A.
So glad I'm outta there.
