    FOOD!
    Food inspiration!

Okay this is the rather tasty result of me rummaging though my kitchen for foods.

Chicken (Tenders) & Biscuits - Serves 2-4 depending

2-4 Skinless Chicken Breasts - Count on 1-1.5 Breasts per person
1-2 Sleeves of crackers, Saltines or similar type work best
    Assorted Herbs and Spices to taste, you'll need a few tablespoons, this is my mix;
    - Mrs Dash- Lemon and Herb Flavor
    - Salt
    - Pepper
    - Garlic Powder
    1 Egg
    1/4 cup of milk
    Vegetable Oil
Package of Biscuit mix (I used Cheddar and Garlic)

    Prep-

Put Crackers into a one gallon ziploc baggie and crush them with a rolling pin till most of them are 1/8-1/4 of an inch in size. Toss in Herbs and Spices seal the bag and shake till everything is well mixed. Pour Mixture into a flat bowl or pie pan

Put the egg and milk into a flat bowl or pie pan and wisk with a fork till they are well mixed

Thaw your chicken, if it's not already, and cut into large pieces.

Take a meat hammer (or a can of veggies and a pan if you don't have one) and smash the chicken pieces till they are about 1/4 of an inch thick.

Set out your breading station, dip the chicken pieces into the egg/milk mixture then into the cracker breading and place on a plate.

Make the biscuits per the package and get them into the oven.

Fill a medium sized frying pan with enough oil cover the bottom almost a 1/4 of an inch you don't want enough to cover the pieces when you put them in, turn on the heat and wait for it to get hot shouldn't take more that 3-4 minutes.

Put the chicken pieces into the oil a few at a time, and cook about 3 minutes a side depending on the size of your pieces, if you aren't sure if they are done pull one out and check to see if its cooked though and adjust your time if necessary. Once everybody is cooked put them on a plate to let them rest a few minutes.

Pull the biscuits out of the oven and serve with the chicken.

    Yum!

My vain attempt to make some money!
As some of you might know...I make jewelry in my spare time, and well I have a huge freaking BOX of the stuff now and no idea how to get rid of it all, so I heard from [info]padawansguide about a site called Etsy which only sells handmade items, she's using it for her photos so I thought...hey why not try it for my jewelry?

So here is my Etsy Shop!

I don't have much up there right now, I have a TON more and still have beads to spare heck I just made a batch of stuff today, gah I need a 12 step program I think. *grins*

    The Gray Lady- Gene 2007
    http://shadwing.livejournal.com/94529.html

    Remember that entry?

At the 2007 Gene convention they had an auction to benifit charity, the catch? The Dolls provided were Grayscale, no color and you had to design a costume in only black, white, gray, or silver. I entered and the final doll sold at the convention for $950.00 I was able to talk to the winner of my doll post the auction and he told me he saw her on display and just fell for her. I was so happy that not only did my doll sell well, but went to somebody who loved her.

Well I FINALLY got the WIP Pictures uploaded, I still have to find the photos I took at the convention when she was on the Gray Doll, but enjoy the WIP pics! I went though something like three vials of steel beads, and almost a full vial of silver on this dress.

    Enjoy!

    Just a tease...
    Quote from Mel-
"Layers of Illusion...made from spangled tulle, black lace and silver lame, with almost medieval panels of incredable beading, the amount of work in this is exquisite..."

Quote from a very lucky conventioneer-
"I saw Alain photographing it yesterday while it was in the photo cube and I fell in love with her..."

    Final Price-
    $950.00

What Am I talking about? I'll let you known when I get home and I can upload photos, WHOOT!

The good! I made it to the 12th Annual Gene Convention!

The bad...net access is a bitch, costs and arm and a leg and I think my network card just hit the crapper so I won't be online as often I was last year. *blargh* Right now I'm on the hotel's crappy free access computer so it's gonna be fun (not) to get online.

    From PotC3- Not real spoliery
    Lyrics to "Hoist the Colors"

The king and his men stole the queen from her bed
and bound her in her bones……
The seas be ours and by the powers
    Where we will, we'll roam…

    Yo, ho, haul together,
    hoist the colors high…
    heave ho, thieves and beggars,
    never shall we die…

Some men have died and some are alive
And others sail on the sea
With the keys to the cage and the Devil to pay
    We lay to Fiddler's Green!

    Yo, ho, haul together,
    hoist the Colors high…
    heave ho, thieves and beggars,
    never shall we die…

The bell has been raised from it's watery grave...
Do you hear it's sepulchral tone?
A call to all, pay heed the squall
And turn your sail toward home!

Yo ho, haul together-- Raise the colors high! Heave ho --
-- thieves and beggars, never say we die.

    State of the SW2 Address
    Yes, yes...been quiet too quiet.

So here's the short version. I need to switch jobs, my boss decided to sell the company and ergo my last day of work will officially be 5-31-07. The good is that I am quite hireable (so everybody keeps telling me) and I have interviewed with the new owners and they are interested in me and might have an opening available. So all is cool there. As such various projects have been put on hold till I know if I will be gainfully employeed or not.

Black Widow Costume- Still in progress I actually got some of the patterns adjusted and ready to make the muslin from, I've also made a list and design sketch for the jewelery made up. I just need to find room in the budget for the crystals I plan to use for it. Ouch gonna be pricey to say the least, and I dont' even know if I'll be able to make it to the Gene Con this year! Affording the trip isn't the problem, getting the time off will be. So I might have to opt for an absentee package, or pray I get a really nice new boss.

Twilight in Paris Rewrite- Still going, in fact it's one of my few projects making leaps of progress in the last few weeks. Since work has slowed down massively I have a computer, Word and a Flash drive with my draft here at work. So far Chapter 1 is 80% complete while Chapter 2 is 90% done. I just started the first pages of Chapter 3 but I'm trying to decide if I want to go ahead or go back and tackle now the adjustments that Chapter 1 is going to need. I'm tempted to plunge ahead since I have a feeling that I'm gonna need to do even more edits to that one as time goes on. Richard is getting so freaking overhauled. I'll post bits later just look for the twilight in paris tags.

CGI Colors- Darth Real Life has pretty much hit all my comic pals for various reasons so no new stuff on this front, which isn't a bad thing given my drama mess above.

Comic Convention- First weekend in May, Val and her sister are coming up for the weekend. Val wanted to see the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Union Station, however they are very limited in tickets and have timed tours. Given the last minute nature of the trip no way we can get up there to see the exhibit. Oh well, we can geek out instead...reminds me I need to order tickets to the con for myself, Hey Val! Don't forget to get them ahead of time they are cheaper!

Birthday- Same weekend as the Con...happy B-Day to me!

Family- All happy, healthy and employed (for now)! Lamenting at the garden work we have to do and cannot do thanks to this freak cold snap...snow this weekend? *cries*

Jewelry making- Yes new obcession, I'm making Jewelry. And I got a DevArt Account to show it off with. Yes I have gone over to the dark side, shoot me please...thanks FYI the link is http://shadowwinglg.deviantart.com And yes I am selling some of the pieces. Just ask, heck I have tons more I haven't had time to photograph and post yet drop me a line I might have something you like in my box here.

    Black Widow Phase 1
Anybody who doesn't like talk about dolls or costuming please feel free to skip this entry, if not read ahead.

This is going to be one of my most insane ideas ever I am going to try and scale up a costume designed for the Madra Lord doll to life sized and fit to yours truly. My goal is to have this done in time for the 2007 Gene Convention and wear it there. Wish me luck! Here are my notes to date-
