Now I feel dirty for loving Indiana Jones. I always figured that line in Raiders meant that they had fooled around when she was young but I didn't think that young. Times were different back when the affair took place but for the film makers to just come out and say they did it to be that way intentionally? Okay, I get the idea of character development and that things get thrown around about characters so that they're fleshed out but those things? THEY'RE KEPT IN THE BACKGROUND FOR A REASON!

I love me a flawed hero but this is just too much information. I know people are always OH MY CHILDHOOD at these things but this time this really hits a nerve. Indiana Jones was my HERO growing up. I dressed up as him all the time and ran around the house - I went as him one year for Halloween.

As for Harrison Ford being a supporter of Polanski? DAMMIT, MAN! You've lost your mind in your old age. I'm going back to studying tort law. It's less depressing and that's saying something.

There's flawed and then there's OH MY GOD YOU DID NOT JUST FUCKING GO THERE.

This falls into the latter category.

Yeah, exactly. I just... why can't people just keep their creeper thoughts to themselves? I want to enjoy my movies in peace, dammit.

I know, right?

I've had so many issues with this. On the one hand -- I do not have a problem with a movie featuring a relationship of that nature, provided it treats it with the right gravity, you know? Show the RESULTS, show the IMPACT, show all that deep psychological damage. What you do NOT do is toss it in as a throwaway 'background' detail thing and expect us to think that is okay BECAUSE IT IS NOT FUCKING OKAY.

Exactly. I always liked that she yelled at him and punched him and told him to get out. That's how you show what is a result of things like that. And, ya know, I saw it as that back when I figured she was like 15 or 16 at the time.

BUT 12? AND THEY THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING??? NO THAT'S NOT INTERESTING THAT'S SICK!

I went back and re-read the interview. It looks like they may have settled on 15. I can live with that - it's gross but it's easier to swallow than 12. Still, the idea that they even talked about 11 or 12? NO. And George Lucas? Yeah, he can bite me. I can at least say something redeeming about Steven because he said she had to be older than 12. Which is immediately undermined by his comment on her being promiscuous. UGH.
