09:04 am - Finally got some running shoes! Made it up to Fleet Feet yesterday, and got fitted for these (in Silver and Red). They're so bouncy and nice :-) Of course, because I have insanely high arches I also got a pair of support insoles. Shoes cost $90, insoles were $35, for a total price of $125. I's prepared myself enough in advance that I didn't go into sticker shock, too.
Sadly, as previously mentioned I hurt my ankle on Sat., as such I opted out of running yesterday, and waited to go until this morning. Which should have been fine, except I forgot to wear the ankle brace. Big mistake. I was able to run for only about 17 minutes before the pain came back full force. The remainder of my run was spent alternating about 2 minutes of running with about 1 minute of walking. Not the best, but that was all I could manage given the apparent condition of my ankle. I'm wearing the brace now, for all the good it'll do me *shrugs*
After the excursion to Fleet Feet, I helped my brother out by priming the last of the rooms in the house. The place is really coming together. At some point, I'll have to post some of the before pictures and (if I can find any) some during pictures, so you can see all the work that's been put into this thing over the last year and a half. As of now, I'm thinking he'll be ready to move in by the end of May. Which would be great, as I really hate having my Mom spending so much time at the house by herself. We all try to get over there as much as we can, but I expect that the next month is going to be very difficult, particularly on her. Next Tuesday would have been my Dad's 64th birthday, and three weeks later will mark one year since his death. This will not be an easy time folks.
