11:52 am - Carbon Calculator
Provided by The Nature Conservancy is this handy-dandy Carbon Emissions Calculator, where you can figure out what your households carbon impact is on the environment (This is NOT the same thing as your ecological footprint). At the end your score is compared to the US average and to the global average, and the site also provides you with some helpful hints on how to reduce your impact.
While Mine and Magus's impact score is well below the US Average, we still have a ways to go it would seem. The biggest contributor to our score seems to have been from driving/flying. Which was seriously hurt by all of the business flights I had to take at my old job. Which is now no longer an issue. I'd love to cut down on the amount of driving that I do daily, but as long as my work is in this not-so-lovely section of SW Philly, I'm sort of stuck. Here's hoping my office decides to rent an annex office in Center City sometime in the next year, because then I can take public transport to work!!
