09:23 am - Sicky Day Spent this weekend in an annoying state of illness. Kind of a cold, kind of the flu. Freakin' annoying all the way around. So, I'm taking a sick day today (although, I AM going to be putting in at least a couple of hours of work via the internet, as things that I thought were completely taken care of need a bit more babysitting from me then originally planned. *shrug* What can you do?
I muscled through the early stages of the illness Saturday morning to help paint my soon-to-be-born nephew's bedroom. Then I pretty much slept for the rest of the day and night. Well, aside form the part where I watched the first two episodes of Season 5 of "Lost" and the remaining episodes of The Guild, which Magus and I started watching Friday night at my brother's, post BSG. It's written by, and stars Felicia Day, so even though we don't play World of Warcraft (and therefore don't get all of the jokes), we still found it to be highly entertaining. Each webisode is about 5 minutes long, so it's not a lot of commitment, if you want to give it a go.
Speaking of BSG. I have been woefully negligent in doing write-ups since the season restarted. And I don't have the energy to do full write ups now. So let me encapsulate all of my thoughts on the past four episodes thusly: ( Read more... )
So, there you go. I should talk about SPN at some point, but that point is not now. Perhaps I will merely summarize with: I love my boys, and I love my show. And there is nothing that makes me quite so happy as curling up with Magus on Saturday, and watching the SPN download. They've been doing an excellent job lately of creating self-contained episodes that STILL manage to push the overall-arc forward. Good job SPN!
And lastly, Magus and I got our taxes done. *sigh* And while we at least don't OWE this year, the return that we are getting (to be deposited in our account this week) was so piddly that we (re: I, but with Magus' permission) decided to pretty much blow it all. (We are stimulating the economy, damn it! PLUS, I think we earned the right to treat ourselves after the moron with the crowbar broke into our car. Did I mention that he/she/it ALSO bypassed a pair of $100 sunglasses in favor of a SUNGLASS CLEANING KIT ($9.95, VERY used)? No? Well, he/she/it did. Moron.)
So, thanks in large part to my new found obsession with "Rock Band" and my desperate urge to get to play "Fable II" we decided to spend the chunk of the return NOT being mailed to NJ (as we got out of owing the Feds money, but not the State) on an XBox 360, Rock Band, & (to be bought later today most likely), Fable II. I don't have the XBox Live account set up yet, but will do shortly, I should think. Need to work out what I'm going to do with our internet situation first...
