02:15 pm - Headacheville My immune system is made of fail.
I've had a pretty much constant, although occasionally subtle, headache since Thursday last week. This has been interspersed with semi-regular bouts of mild fever and swollen/sore throat. Headache meds do very little to stem the symptoms.
I've had a LOT of orange juice over the last week.
I've also slept a lot. I got nearly 11 hours Friday night, and then at least 8-9 hours on Saturday and Sunday nights. And somewhere in the realm of 7-8 hours the rest of the nights. (Please note, this much sleep is not standard practice for me AT ALL.) Monday I worked from home, on account of the snow that descended upon us all, so I got to take it pretty easy, but still no relief. This morning was the first time I've woken up without a headache in the last week, but that self-corrected at about 10:30 this morning. I'm refusing to take any more headache meds, as they aren't doing shit, and my liver has requested a break. (Seriously there were bike messengers, and notarized memos involved. It got ugly.)
I know my body, so I know that this isn't anything serious (I get this way in the winter sometimes), and its nothing that is going to make me go to the Doctors (yet), because there is very little that they could do. But it is still damned annoying, and its stopping me from being able to do my regular things. (Like "training" - I did a mild core set this morning, shoveled snow from the sidewalk on Monday, and went ice skating with the kiddies on Saturday. Beyond that, my "training" has consisted of a combination of Rock Band 2/Fable II/Assassin's Creed.)
I picked up some "Emergen-C" and cough drops this morning. I chose the flavor poorly in both cases. Blech.
And to make this post made up of NOT entirely whine, I'll give you TV in one-long run on sentence! "Battlestar Galactica" is still awesome (even if its making me a tad nervous now); "House" is the worse show that I watch (seriously guys, I get that you are a procedural show, but would it hurt you to break out of the mold just a little?); "Dollhouse" has yet to really reel me in, although its not bad, its just not GREAT; and I still miss you SPN! Come back!!
