Sometimes time travel stories raise more questions than they answer, but if they're well written, I can switch off that nagging part of my brain, and just go with the flow. "A Time to Change" is one of those well written stories. It is a long, complex story, with a great deal of work and thought put into it.

Harry is in his seventh year at Hogwarts, but during his holidays he wishes he could disappear ... into the upholstery where he could stay forever, warm by the fire and unneeded. Not unwanted. Just unneeded. When he finds a magical artifact, his wish comes true and he wakes up in an alternative universe, where his parents are alive and he's part of a happy, loving family.

Unfortunately Harry soon realises that this universe is not going to have a happy ending. With the help of Severus, Harry goes back in time to change events that happened during his parents' time at Hogwarts.

Each chapter of the story starts with an entry from the journals Harry keeps during his time in the alternative universe and his journey back in time. Sansa uses these entries to good effect towards the end of the story.

I really enjoyed "A Time to Change". The ending may pose a few unanswered questions, but I don't mind going without answers, since this story has such a good story-line, with the bonus of a lovely Snape/Harry romance as well.
