Crucius by Dolores Crane Title: Crucius Author: Dolores Crane Rating: NC-17 Story Link: Here Summary: Harry hates being a schoolboy and Snape hates being a teacher; what else do they have in common, and how can they escape? Angst, Romance, First Time Reviewer: Gaycrow Harry decides he’s had enough of exams and walks out of school, but realises he needs lessons in Defence Against the Dark Arts, and who better to teach him than Snape? The writer captures both characters very well. I particularly like the way she has Harry walking out on his studies - I can see him doing that. He has so much to put up with, and ordinary wizarding school-work would seem a waste of time to him, knowing he has to eventually kill Voldemort. I really love the way the writer has Harry and Severus come together. This is the best sex/love writing I think I've seen. It's exactly how I believe Snape would interact with Harry in my perfect Harry Potter universe - "When Snape lost control, he *really* lost it." And I love the way she brings a little humour into it, with Harry comparing their discovery of each other's bodies to Quidditch. (Only Harry could do that!) The only little quibble I have is the ending, which I don't really understand; and I feel the story finishes in a rush. However it's a story I would read more than once. Another favourite. |
