Contrapasso, by Rex Luscus Title: Contrapasso Author: Rex Luscus Rating: NC-17 Author’s Warnings: Non-con, torture (more psychological than violent), mentions of character death (canon and non-canon), HBP spoilers. Story Link: http://community.livejournal.com/snarry Author’s Livejournal: Author’s summary: Summary: contrapasso, n. the ironic cosmological law ensuring that "the punishment fits the crime." Entry in the Snarry Games. Team Angst. Prompt: Dollhouse. Length: novella Reviewer: Harry asks to be transfered to a dead-end job: a warden in Amelia Bones Memorial Maximum Security Detention Facility for Dangerous Magical Persons. Where, incidentally, one Severus Snape is undergoing his "improvement." I loved the magic here! All this Gulliver background is simply fabulous, wow. But the fic is chilly, scary at times. It's dark. Harry is really f*cked up; you can see what absolute power means and what it does to a person, even in such a closed world as Amelia Bones Detention Facility. The scene with Snape's introduction to Atilla made me shudder, as did several others. But there's enough in this story to balance the darkness, so when I finished it, I could only say, "Wow! What a ride!" |
