Summary: Written from Snape’s POV, during the heat of summer in a future world where Dumbledore has died, and Hogwarts is full of refugees.

Reviewer: Gaycrow

This is a beautiful short story, written in the first person from Snape’s point of view.

During a long hot summer, when Hogwarts is filled with refugees from the presumed war against Voldemort, Harry has started to spend more and more time in Snape’s Dungeons. On his 18th Birthday, things come to a head.

I knew what he was after, of course. Feeling without attachment; some connection to the world, through his skin, through his tongue and hands.

Ellen has captured the heat of summer, the heat of passion, and the hoplessness of the war very well, with just the slightest prospect of a happier outcome.

She has promised a sequel, and I’m very much looking forward to reading the next part of this story.
