author's notes: this is a remix of wildegirl_05’s Ghost in the Attic. i chose to do a standard remix theme and tell the story from the other’s POV (draco in this case). the thing that makes this a wee bit tricky is that draco isn’t actually in the original fic. Ghost in the Attic was inspired Sting’s song Ghost Story. i tried to keep this remix to the spirit of that song and the rhythm of the original story.
finally, i would not have been able to pull this off without the unending support of phenix_tears and coffeejunkii. one who brainstormed for hours and hours with me (and gives me unending support) and the other who kept me from giving up and encouraged and extended and beta'd in the 11th hour. thanks ladies.

author's notes: this fic was written as part of the serpentinelion's @lj secrets and wishes fest challenge. i chose wildegirl_05's request. I would really really like to see a h/d fic where H and D have parallel lives. One day, all their plans for that day are completely and utterly messed up by life. What follows is fate throwing the two of them running into each other constantly and the day ends with them kissing. Witty dialogue, please! Messers up of plans should include: seamus, blaise, lucius, snape, remus, ron and hermione.
this fic gave me no end of trouble right up 'til i finally wrestled the boys into giving me an ending. i'm not sure how close i came to delivering what was requested, but this is what the boys wanted to do. will not claim to be able to write witty dialogue, but i did manage to include everyone of the above messers up.
the majority of the fic takes place at St Christopher's Hospice in London and in their Creative Living Centre, where Draco works. I made up the organisation Healing Paws, based on real groups that do what this fictional organisation does (and only later realised its initials were HP). for those of you not familiar with dog breeds, this is a Corgi.

interestingly enough, i seem to have come to the end of unexpected, that strange wee saga that has been growing from various weekly awdt prompts over at jamie2109's . every part has been prompted by one of the awdt's (though not all were done in the correct week of the prompt). so here is part 8, the final chapter (i believe anyway), that takes a tame little mostly G rated fic and flings it into nc17 (or maybe just hard R, i'm never sure about the breakdown on that). this is one of the few really smutty pieces i've written, so be gentle. from this weeks prompt "I have no idea." horrendously long for an awdt, but, oh well. unbeta'd cause i ran out of time since i am just under the wire, once again (unconscionable, really, for a piece this long. sorry 'bout that). anyway, without further ado - or wibbling- here is part 8:
