    Well, if the results of your research are positive, I'm sure there would be no need to trouble Jill with these matters. She has plenty to do already, after all.

    I agree that findings must be repeatable to be credible. I'll be happy to assist for subsequent trials if you wish.

    I was under the impression that only one bedroom would be needed for this particular research. As for being better equipped, well, I shall let you make your own judgement, of course.

    As to your ice cream question, I have no idea. However, as a scientist, I of course encourage you to explore this area of interest.

    I'm not sure that having you lecture wouldn't just confuse the students further. Then again, I could always come in after and cite your baffling speech as an example of the problem.

    I don't have proof, no, but that's the joy of being a physicist - I don't have to prove anything.

    I'm not sure, Ioan, I would have to see the talents in question before I could comment. Perhaps I should talk to Christian - would he know about about these hidden talents?

    Ah yes, we Americans would only be confused if the British didn't look down their noses at us, so it's just as well.

    I was thinking the course could be titled 'Non-Physicists:  Why They Don't Get It' or some such. It's important to capture the interest of the students with a good course title, don't you think?

    I was referring to the windows in my office, unless my student assistant Jill has a talent for differential equations which she has kept from me. Hmm, I wonder if Jill has any other talents that she might care to show me ...

    Ah yes, the list is hilarious and vaguely disturbing in its accuracy. Of course, I'm sure that mathematicians never ever look down their collective noses are non-mathmeticians. Hmm, not much uncertainty there, yes?

    Still, you have to bear with them - it can be difficult to deal with non-physicists sometimes. Perhaps an informative course for such things would be in order.

    Stop writing on my windows, I've been getting notes from the cleaning lady.

    It is a bright sunlit day in late summer on the campus of the prestigious University of Chicago. A lone runner races around the practice track in one of the Universities extensive athletic facilities. Clearly on the edge of exhaustion, the figure slows to a walk, panting and trying to cool down. After a long minute of walking back and forth, the figure approaches a nearby bench.
