Why is everyone calling Yuki Eiri an aggressive seme? He lets himself be pursued by Shuichi most of the time! If that doesn't make him passive, I don't know the definition of the word. Besides, he cries when Shuichi is hurt!

Well, I'm afraid people are always going to disagree on what makes an uke and uke and a seme a seme. I know I've often had disagreements in the past regarding them, especially when it comes to the (mostly Japanese-derived) tendency to put the big beefy masculine guys as seme BY DEFAULT, as if somehow being macho means you can't enjoy taking it up the ass (Something that can be easily disproved by going to your nearest gym and talking to some of the queens there. ^_-). So, instead of continuing to complain about this particular subject, I went ahead and founded a community (which is still in its embryonic stages) so that people who enjoy "big beefy ukes" in any way can find each other and have fun discussing them. Hopefully I'll get people to start talking there soon. ^_^ Anyway, not much point to this post other than to say "you're not the only one" and not to worry, fandom is a very big place, and you'll eventually find more people who agree with your perspective on this Yuki fellow. ^_^

^___^ I've found a Gravitation virgin here! From your comment, I can tell you haven't watched Gravitation before! Because this Yuki fellow is by no means a big beefy guy. :P He's blond, willowy, has long eye lashes and ... (ok, to elaborate more will be spoiler-ish) He's only seme because his partner is even more girly than him! Allow me to show your some screen captures: http://yyh.phormix.com/yuki/It's an excellent romance comedy of the shounen-ai genre. I highly recommend it to anyone! Bawahah. Interesting LJ community. :D Honestly, most of the time I disregard the rule for seme and uke and let the guys take turn to be on top, because that how it works IRL. :)

You're right about my never having seen Gravi and being a "virgin" to the series, but I have seen a few screencaps before in reviews of the show and have an idea of his looks. I actually meant the big beefy uke thing as an example that I was in a similar situation to yours. Sorry if my initial wording was a little confusing. ^_^; Bawahah. Interesting LJ community. :DHeh! Thanks. iwaki and I are being bums about getting people to talk (for some reason, the ice isn't as easy to break there as it was for my fw_offline group ^^;), but hopefully I'll have some time to get the ball rolling soon. ^_^ I just wish I wasn't so easily distracted by everything when I'm online. ^^;;; Honestly, most of the time I disregard the rule for seme and uke and let the guys take turn to be on top, because that how it works IRL. :)For a lot of people (probably the greater majority), it's like that. I don't deny there's folks who have "set" (or even strict) preferences, though most of them are usually willing to negotiate. ^^

PS: Ack, sorry for the triple-post. I realized I fudged up a tag and went back to fix it, and then fudged up things AGAIN. >

I know how hard it is to get people talking in a brand new LJ community.I owed one myself. Maybe the adminstrator needs to do lots of pimping. :D Try doing it on the yaoi community?

Saw your posts from a friendslist somewhere - I have to say that people are on crack. Yuki is almost by definition passive, at least in the anime, because he's extremely apathetic. The only "aggressive" thing he did (to my shoddy memory) was kiss Shuichi in the elevator, woooooo extreme. -_-;; And even afterward he just kind of shrugged and said he wasn't sure why he did it.
Sheesh, are we talking about the same character here? Mr. "Leave Me Alone To Wallow In My Angst, You Idiot"? Bah. Calling him seme at all would fall under the Height Rule and some suggestions here and there. He could be either, really, which is one thing I like about him - he doesn't fall easily into cliche.
But "aggressive" is just... no. I don't see where they're getting that at all.
Sorry for ranting - but I do agree. ;) I dunno if I'd go so far as to be Shuichi/Yuki simply because the idea of Shuichi as a seme makes me laugh. But, you know, I could imagine it.

Yes, I completely agree with you! ^_^ He's considered seme because Shuichi is even more girly than he is, but Shuichi is the one who's doing all of the pursuing there. He practically forces himself into Yuki's life, and keeps pushing and persuading until Yuki finally gives in and admits that yeah, he likes Shuichi. Which part of Yuki is aggreesive? Yuki is one of the very few characters that can be both seme and uke. :D I do like the idea of ShuichixYuki. And I can tell you right now many people like it too. ^_~ http://adultfan.nexcess.net/aff/story.php?no=2690 Look at this wonderfully written lemon, where they take turns! :P
