10:42 pm - (FIC: RPS) Anatomically Correct
|
Title: Anatomically Correct Author: star_dancer54 Rating: Hard R Pairing: J-squared, or Jared/Jensen Warnings: Schmoop like y'all wouldn't believe. Anatomy geekery, as well *headdesks* Summary: “Cock sicks, you say? Sounds kinky.” Jensen takes the time to explain some anatomy to Jared and thinks about what might have been. Word Count: 1330 Feedback: Welcome. A/N 1: Thanks go to deathangelgw, blessed is she among betas. Also to most of my flist, which has been waiting for this wretched fic for months. *facepalms* One can also blame my Kinesiology class last term. Yes, these are the right terms - I've made this pretty damned accurate, honest, and it IS possible to do that to one's shoulder. A/N 2: This wretched thing is trying to talk me into turning this into a 'verse-type thing. Y'all need to talk me out if it *covers face in shame and kicks ideas under carpet*
( I might have changed my mind about physical therapy, when I started actually taking classes )

This postsecret card hurts me, and saddens me.
As someone who's training to become a licensed massage therapist, I've heard stories about how often it is for a person (usually single) to go for long periods of time without another person touching them on purpose. I've heard about babies who've died without a comforting touch in class and in the real world. It's heartbreaking.
There is always some way to get touch, always. Some are unhealthy, like staying in a bad relationship because you think you can't find anything better, or because you're afraid of being alone, or starting fights just so someone will touch you, even in violence. God, there's hundreds of ways.
But there are just as many good ways, too. You can get a short chair massage for free at some schools, or longer massages for discount prices - massage therapy students are always looking for practice clients. That's what the business is about, after all - touch. Showing the client that there is someone there with them, who wants to help them and who is willing to just be there and touch them with little to no strings attached. I don't mean this in a sexual way, as some people just don't need sexual touch as much as they need tactile comfort from someone not themselves. Hell, I've heard of massages that were put on hold while a person who was deprived of touch just broke down at a simple resting hold, just a hand settled on his/her back or shoulders. It doesn't take much, just some form of tactile acknowledgement that someone is there with you.
What I really want to see, and this might be a bit odd of an image, but... I want to see something like this in every town, every city, all over the world. Sometimes people just need acknowledgement, something that lets them know that they exist and someone's happy for that fact, even if it's a perfect stranger.
Okay, I'm going to hop off my soapbox now.

I went to bed at two forty-five this morning. Why, you may ask, am I up at six thirty?
Ah, that would be because at about four twenty, I heard the familiar sounds of my cat yarking up in the hallway. After cleaning that up, I put him on his lead outside, then went back to bed. He likes it out, so I figured that he wouldn't have a problem with staying outside for four or so hours.
Well, after having yet another nightmare from him not being in the room with me (yeah, I'm sensing a theme here), I got up to bring him in about seven minutes ago. He was at the end of his lead, peering at something very intently. There were birds chirriping close in the bush beside him, so I assumed that he was interested in those birds.
Wrong.
Suddenly there was a grey blur of motion from that bush headed across the street, and before I realized it there was a following black-and-white blur of furry son hot on its tail. He'd snapped his collar with absolute ease. *headdesks*
And of course I'm only wearing a teeshirt and my panties with my hair puffed up like a maniac's. So, I have to bolt inside to grab pants and a hair tie (I can NOT focus with my hair down and in my damned way - this comes from someone with hair almost down to her hips), don't bother with shoes, and then head on across the street looking for the fucker.
And where was he?
Standing clearly where I could see him, just at the edge of the neighbor's back patio. Luckily, he came to me when he saw me coming to him, and wasn't that difficult to keep ahold of (I think he'd surprised himself and gotten spooked by the dog next door to them).
What have I learned from this? His furry ass is not going outside again until he has a HARNESS, and has been Advantaged. Possibly not even then, either. That also explains why it is that he raises so much 'cane about going outside, too, nevermind that he doesn't have any 'nads to take advantage of that fact (not, mind, that I'd let his furry ass NOT be neutered).
Now, back to bed.

For safety's sake, I've gone and locked most of my spn fics, as well as some of my more... questionable fics from other fandoms. I've also edited my interests, which is The Thing To Do at the moment, and all we can really do, other than raising all sorts of hell, is buckle down and wait until all this rubbish tides over, which I will be looking forward to >.<;;;

11:35 am - Okay, y'all, seriously.
|
I'm looking at the very fascinating and disturbing issues with Fanlib.com*... and I'm wondering just how many of my flist and the people who watch here know about it. I've seen several people I recognize from a number of my previous and present fandoms, and it baffles me when I see that they're posting stories there. The only reason, personally, that I can see even becoming a member there is for authors who're wanting to protect their pen names from any newbies who don't know any better. This just seems like a very effective way to not only piss off the entirety of the fanfiction community (what with the lovely rules going into the Terms of Service* as well as what's in the marketing brochure**), but a damned fine way to make us drop most of our fandom squabbles and join together in the fury and disgust that seems to be the normal reaction for those of us who've been in the fandom for some time.
Fandom, to me at least, is... my second home. I have more friends (most of which are writers, if not all of them) in here than I do in real life. No matter what fandom I've wandered into, I have NEVER been shunned, shamed, or refused entrance into said fandom, no matter what pairing or rating or kink I happen to like. I happen to like cussing, and sex, and violence and blood and pain and mpreg and all sorts of other things that are even more off the wall... and I get the feeling that this site? Is trying to sterilize fandom to something more palatable for those that aren't involved in it. We aren't mainstream, and probably won't be for some time. Hell, a number of the people I talk to haven't even come out about their fannishness to their own family and friends. Why the hell would we want to be involved in something that just wants to leash the uncontrollable, sometimes insane and schizophrenic and overall passionate thing that is fandom? I think that people who are joining this - not to protect their names but to actually post stories there need to read up on this site first. Look at their brochure (which is more for companies than for the fans), at their Terms of Service, maybe even the previous FAQ that the site had had up, as well as the fact that they have not only taken a condescending tone towards the fans (which flamingly pisses me off like y'all wouldn't believe), but they've outright LIED about what they've done and haven't done (case in point: swearing up and down that they hadn't asked for personal information like phone numbers and addresses for membership when they HAD, then trying to cover it up).
*gestures* I can't really be very eloquent about this topic, seriously, but I think y'all get the point of this. If you're a writer, and want to protect your pen name by joining that and never posting anything there, SAY SO in your membership profile. I saw a really good statement from calicokat, which I'm copy-pasting here:
I disagree with the aims and content of this website, but I will not risk having someone else post here with my fandom name. Please, don't support FanLib.com
So, go ahead. Protect your name, and your fandom. Make sure that if you do want to post stuff there, that you read up on the information available about it first. If you're rip-roaringly pissed about what's going on or just want to know more, join or watch life_wo_fanlib
Links: *Article summing up the events **Some of the marketing brochure, as well as a link to the .pdf file Questions about the FAQ, the FAQ in question having been shut down before I've posted this
I'll probably add to these links as I see other stuff. Also, I'm leaving this unlocked in case of possible linkage.

Repost if you plan on doing any of these things this year. Since this is long, lj-cut it but copy and paste the ones you plan to do outside of the cut.
What I am going to do:
- Give away some pleasure.
- Join a group like the American Civil Liberties Union, Californians Against Censorship Together, Feminists for Free Expression, the National Coalition Against Censorship, the National Campaign for Freedom of Expression, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, of Coyote. These groups are fighting for your sexual freedom. Be sure to enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your request for information.
- Find a new fantasy.
- If a convenience store is being picketed for carrying adult magazines, walk in and buy one. Tell the manager you support her or his decision to carry the materials the customers want.
- Write a love letter to an unlovable part of your body.
- Do not be shamed. Do not be stampeded by fear.
- Talk to a sex worker, a transgendered person, a celibate, a sadomasochist, a heterosexual - anybody whose sexual identity or practices are different from yours.
- Masturbate, and don't hurry.
- Give up the concept of trying to control other people's sexual tastes. It will give you more time to develop your own.
- Make or buy a sex toy.
- Volunteer for a rape crisis center, a shelter for battered women, or an AIDS hotline.
- Live a long time and make waves. The name of this ride is "Rock the Boat," not "Pretend You're Dead Already."

Now, this plotbunny dogpile thing is a damned nifty idea. It's not limited to any particular fandom, and you can simply drop your ideas for fics that you've never written but want to see there. While you're there, look around and see if there's anything you'd be interested in writing, yourself. It doesn't matter if you're a good writer or a bad one, OR if it's been done by someone else, you can still do it! Just drop a link when you've written it, and you're set!

Word count: 261 A/N: So, there’s this silly wankfest that was going on today, and, really now, why wank when you can porn? Ok, so this doesn’t actually have much in the way of porn (thus the extra bit at the end), but any little bit helps, right? Betaed by deathangelgw, as usual. Blessed is she among betas. ( Fic )

For some reason (Hmmm I wonder why?) this vid makes me smile stupidly and go 'awwww' and make little happy squeaky noises... Jensen/Jared, or whichever way... Some of these snippets I have not seen before, so it also gives me more than a little bit of glee :D Oh, boys...
