I was sitting here tonight, and I saw, "Oh! A link to pictures from the Wellington ROTK premire!" I figured that since it's not porn, and it's not even fanart, I could look at them with Jed in the room and it wouldn't be too weird. It was weird. He kept staring over my shoulder, so I tried to make him guess which actors played which parts. He guessed wrong on every count except for Sean Astin, and I mis-heard and said he was wrong on that too, and he got really offended. I ended up justifying my interest in the pictures by reiterating my point that most of the actors have the opposite hair color from their characters (I never said it was much of a point). Then he started drinking. This whole thing is getting very strange.

Sometimes I really wish I knew less about canine husbandry.
Speaking of which, I got yelled at last night for revealing the shocking secret that Remus Lupin is a werewolf. For god's sake, that book has been out for four years. I figured that everyone has either read it already or has no intention of reading it and therefore doesn't give a damn. The girl who yelled at me is in the middle of it, and has been for six months now. It's a children's book, dear. I read it in three days, and that was when I was working full time. She actually read the first one, skipped the second one because she saw the movie and didn't need to bother with the book, and has been slowly digesting the third one for quite a while. I was sorely tempted to blurt out the rest of the ending, but she was hyper enough as it was.
This all happened after I asked about Remus being Welsh. I've seen quite a few fics where he's depicted as Welsh, but I don't remember anything about it from canon. None of my English friends have picked up on any subtle Welsh clues, though, so maybe it's all a dream. I also checked, and David Thewlis, who's playing Remus in the movie, was born and raised in Blackpool, so there's no heritage-through-casting going on there. Ah, well. Maybe we'll find out more later.
