Harry felt himself being led up a flight of stairs, then he heard a door open before him.
"You may open your eyes now."
Harry opened them slowly and blinked against the light.
"Happy Birthday, Harry."
The room was small, but the huge windows lining one wall gave it the illusion of space. An easel sat in one corner, blank canvases and stacks of paints and brushes piled beside it.
"Oh, Severus... It's..." He turned and surveyed the room, a slow grin splitting his face.
"You're always saying you need some place where you can get away from everything, So I thought... No one can get in but you.
“And you?”
"No. This is your world, Harry"
“You are my world.”

The painting hung on the wall in their bedroom. It was the first piece Harry had completed after receiving his birthday present.
The forbidden forest encircled two men in a glade, one Harry, one Severus. They lay together on a blanket, staring up at the stars.
At the forest edge, sat a large black dog, just barely visible through the trees. The dog occasionally growled at him. A watch dog, Severus supposed.
Severus decided he could live with it. It was a small concession to make for his Harry.
