Albus didn’t activate the Floo system at Grimmauld Place very often, so when he landed in the living room with a flurry, Sirius stood up and took notice.
"Albus, what on earth is going on?"
"We have a small problem, Sirius. I need a safe place to harbor Severus."
"What?" Sirius asked in shock. "Snape, why would you need to hide Snape? What has he done now?"
"Nothing, there’s been an accident in potions class. Mr. Longbottom added the wrong ingredient to a potion and it had a rather odd effect."
"Is Neville all right?"
"He's fine. Severus pushed Mr. Longbottom out of the way and took the full force of the mishap unto himself."
"Oh, well that was bloody noble of the git, wasn't it?" Sirius sneered in contempt. "Always the martyr, trying to make people think he's not the devil incarnate."
"Enough," Albus shouted, instantly gaining Sirius' undivided attention.
"Err, sorry. What happened?"
"Severus has regressed in years to about the age of sixteen. He has no memories of the future. He only remembers what's happened up to his sixteenth year. We've been trying to reeducate him, but I don't think he really believes it."
"Snape is sixteen--bloody hell! Why does he have all the luck?"
"I don't think it's lucky, Sirius. Severus is in grave danger. If the Dark Lord finds out about Severus in his current state, it could be very bad. Voldemort will most definitely exploit this, and Severus hasn't joined their cause yet. He has no knowledge of it. Do you see my point, Sirius?"
"Hmm, I suppose so, but Snape hadn't taken the Dark Mark at this age, so shouldn't he be safe? What are you going to do about it?"
"No, Voldemort has spies everywhere. It is too risky to let him stay at Hogwarts and there is nothing I can do about it. The potion has to wear off. There is no antidote. Poppy said it might wear off in a day, a week, a month or it might be permanent. If that is the case, then Severus will age normally from age sixteen on."
"So, I may be stuck with him indefinitely?"
"I'm afraid so, Sirius. Now, let me set some ground rules. There will be no berating him, no pranks and no physical abuse. Am I making myself clear, Sirius? Do not test my patience on this issue. I assure you, you will not be pleased with the result."
Sirius looked into Albus' steel blue eyes. They didn't hold even the slightest hint of a twinkle. Albus was dead serious and he knew the old man meant business.
"I understand. I'll be as nice to him as I possibly can."
"Excellent, don't disappoint me. I'll be back in a few minutes with Severus."
"Oh goody," Sirius mumbled sarcastically under his breath as Albus stepped back into the fireplace.
Sirius was pacing the living room when Albus returned with a pale, haggard looking teen Snape. He looked exactly the way Sirius remembered him from their school years, sullen and brooding.
Albus laid a gentle hand on Snape's shoulder, but the teenager backed away from it. "Severus, I'm sorry, but it's for your own good. You'll be safe here with Sirius. This house is unplotted, undetectable by Tom Riddle and his associates. Do you remember Sirius Black?"
Severus' glare could have curdled milk as he ground out through clenched teeth, "I remember him."
Sirius knew this wasn't going to be pleasant. Shite, shite, shite.
Albus took Severus up to an empty bedroom and helped him put away his clothes. The boy was entirely silent as Albus settled him in. This was going to be difficult for him. Severus obviously remembered the Shrieking Shack incident and he hated Sirius with a passion, but it was Albus' only option. Severus wouldn't be safe at Hogwarts or anywhere else for that matter. The Headmaster hated leaving him, but other things needed attending to, so with a heavy heart Albus Flooed away, leaving Severus in Sirius' hands.
~~~~~
Three days passed with no sign of Snape. Sirius had Kreacher deliver meals to his room. They came back virtually untouched. Snape wasn't eating enough to keep a bird alive and Sirius was worried. If he let the git starve to death, he'd be in big trouble with Albus.
On the fourth day, Sirius knocked on Snape's door. He didn't get any response. He knocked again and shouted, "Snape." He still didn't get an answer and so, he resorted to pounding on the door. Finally, he heard a muffled, "Go away."
"Let me in Sniv, ah, Snape. If you don't open the door, I'll have to open it with magic. This is my house and it responds to my commands. What's it going to be, Snape?"
Sirius smiled in satisfaction when the bedroom door opened a crack. Snape sat on the bed with his legs crossed, greasy hair hanging in his eyes. He looked worse than when he'd first arrived. He'd lost weight and his skin was gray. He looked like a skeleton, too bony to be a recent cadaver.
Sirius entered the room and sat down on the end of the bed. The two opposing sides stared each other down until Severus flinched first and looked away. In this time and place, Sirius was older and wiser, well older anyway. Sirius could match Snape glare for glare. He'd be damned if a teenager would get the best of him.
"Snape, I can't let you starve yourself to death. Dumbledore would have my hide."
"No he wouldn't' You've tried to kill me before and he did nothing--absolutely nothing," Severus growled.
"For the last time, Snape, I did not try to kill you. You've never let me explain or even given me the chance to apologize. Are you going to listen to me now, or am I just wasting my breath?"
Severus peeked out from under a tangle of hair and looked into gray-blue eyes. If Sirius hadn't known better, he'd swear that Snape was using Legilimency on him. Of course, that wasn't possible. Snape didn't know Legilimency back then--or did he? It made Sirius ponder just how powerful a wizard Snape might actually be.
"I'm listening," Snape hissed low. Even as a teen, Severus was impressively menacing.
Sirius took a deep breath. This could go long. He wasn't sure he could put into words what really possessed him to lead Snape to the Shrieking Shack that fateful night, but he had to try.
"As I was saying, I had no intention of getting you killed. I wasn't even trying to hurt you, just scare you away from Remus. I knew you liked him and I think he liked you a little too. I figured if you saw him in wolf form, you'd be repulsed and leave him alone. I didn't think you'd actually go into the tunnel after you heard the growling. I tired to stop Moony, but I wasn't strong enough to fight a crazed werewolf. I'm just glad James showed up.
"How touching. I spent a month in the hospital wing. I still have the scars from your little prank, but the nightmares are the worse part. I wake up shaking every night with a silent scream stuck in my throat. I'd say your intention to scare me away from Lupin worked like a charm. You should be very proud."
Sirius sighed and hung his head. "No, I'm not proud. I almost lost my best friends over it. Our relationship was never quite the same after that. They forgave me eventually, but I lost the one thing I'd hoped for more that anything."
"I find that hard to believe. Sirius Black always gets what he wants."
"Didn't Albus explain any of the past events to you? I thought he had."
"Yes, he told me that Lily and Potter were dead and that you were convicted of the crime. He said you spent the last twelve years in Azkaban until you made a daring escape. He said Pettigrew was the real murderer. I believed him. I don't think that you would kill Lily and Potter."
Sirius opened his mouth in shock. This was not what he'd expected to hear, considering the older Snape thought he was guilty as sin.
"What, you have nothing to say, Black?"
"Um, I'm just surprised, that's all. You thought I tried to kill you, so why not Lily and James?"
"I don't know. Call it a hunch, a gut feeling, I just don't think you would kill two of your closest friends, and you still haven't told me what it was you supposedly lost."
"Oh, Remus," Sirius answered offhandedly. "He couldn't bring himself to be with me again after the incident. He couldn't touch me in an intimate way anymore and he believed I was guilty of killing James and Lily, right up until the point Pettigrew revealed himself. It hurt me more than anything else did in the world. All those years in Azkaban, I relived the past, all my mistakes and failures day after day until I thought I'd go mad. Some people think I am mad, and maybe they're right."
Snape snorted, "You've always been mad, Black. Azkaban hasn't changed a thing. You're still mad and incredibly imperceptive. You don't have the slightest clue as to why I followed you and your mangy pack around. I wasn't interested in Lupin. It was you, Black. From the very beginning, that first day on the train, I thought you were beautiful. I didn't realize how ugly you really were until that night at the Shrieking Shack, and that your soul was as black as your name. I'd always hoped that things would change between us, and that night they did change, forever."
Sirius couldn't take anymore. His mind was reeling. It just couldn't be true. Of all the people in the world, that could've come crashing into his life, why did it have to be Snape--always Snape.
Sirius got up and left the room without a word. He thought he'd witnessed the beginning of tears forming in the teen's eyes and he just couldn't watch. Sirius was sure that he'd been the source of many tears of frustration for Severus Snape during their youth.
That night Sirius sent Kreacher upstairs with a tray of food and a note that simply said, "Please eat." To Sirius' surprise, the tray came back about half eaten. At least, that was a start.
The days passed in a blur and Severus eventually came out of his room to wander the house and spend enormous amounts of time in the Black family library. Sirius tried to maintain a respectful distance, but the more he watched Snape covertly, the more fascinated with him he became.
Severus knew Black was watching his every move. He'd seen him through the fringes of his hair on many occasions just staring at him. It made his sixteen-year-old body tingle with desire. It was a foolish desire, but even an old and worn Sirius Black exuded such sexual magnetism it was almost impossible to ignore.
Severus noticed that Sirius' demeanor had changed considerably from the one he remembered. He wasn't taunting or malicious. He hadn't once insulted him. Then again, he hadn't said more than two words to him since their little talk. He must've been thoroughly disgusted by Severus admission. Severus wished he'd never told Black about his true feelings. That was a moment of shear stupidity on his part.
Severus' nightmares began to take on a new twist. Instead of a snarling werewolf attacking him, Severus dreamed it was Black, only Severus didn't put up a fight. He would let Black, the older one, ravage him in his dreams and Severus would wake every morning with soiled sheets. It was all those pent up sixteen-year-old hormones running rampant through his body. Wanking six times a day did little to resolve the tension.
Moaning every night in his sleep and calling out for Sirius built to a fevered pitch until Sirius' control finally snapped. He entered Snape's room one night and slipped into bed next to the oblivious teen. Sirius was surprised to find that Snape slept nude. It was a definite bonus. It made a lot less work for Sirius.
Severus' first conscious thought was that this dream seemed entirely too real. He could actually feel Black's hands roaming over his body. When his cock was engulfed in moist heat, Severus sat bolt upright, shaking the cobwebs from his head.
"Argh, fuck… what… are you doing?"
Sirius sat up on his knees and looked into Snape's eyes. He could see the shock even in the dim light of the moon shining through the window.
"You've been calling for me. I thought this was what you wanted. I thought this would make up for some past grievances."
"I don't need a pity fuck from an old man." Snape tried to push him away, but Sirius wrapped his arms around him and held tight. Severus struggled, but he was no match for Sirius' superior strength. He soon found himself pinned under Black's weight, with his hard cock poking him in the thigh. Sirius used a knee to spread Severus' legs wide as he held him down. Severus began to panic and he renewed his struggle. Sirius' mouth met his and when Severus gasped, Sirius shoved his tongue into his mouth. He kissed him hard, passionately and without hesitation.
Severus couldn't breath, couldn't think. This was what he'd dreamed about and now it was coming true. When Sirius released his mouth, Severus gulped in huge amounts of air, making his head spin. He felt his anus tingle and magically stretch to accommodate Black's large member. He never uttered a *no* or a *stop* as Sirius plunged inside him. The initial pain felt like it would rip him apart, but then Black stilled and waited for him to adjust.
Slowly, Sirius began to move; his motions stilted, reigned in tightly and held in check. He kept on that way until Severus began to push back against him, matching Sirius thrust for thrust. "Ah… yes, Sirius, harder, please."
Sirius thrust into Severus again and again, harder each time, dragging moans of pleasure from the boy's lips as he raked over his prostate with every pass. The boy writhed beneath him, giving Sirius such a sense of power. His body flew to new heights, never before experienced in his life. It was all over much too soon. Stroking Severus' cock, Sirius felt his balls begin tighten as Severus spilled his seed over his rapidly pumping fist. Sirius followed him into orgasm, shaking and grunting.
When the haze finally lifted, Sirius felt overcome with guilt. He'd just raped a teenage boy. He jumped up from the bed and slinked out of the room with his tail between his legs. This would most assuredly get him sent back to Azkaban. Albus would never stand for it, and Sirius would have to take responsibility for his actions.
Meanwhile, Severus slept peacefully, wrapped in the warmth of his fantasy come to life. Sweet dreams filled his head for the rest of the night, dreams of a future with the man he'd been in love with since he was eleven-years-old.
The next morning came too soon and Sirius knew what he had to do. He Flooed Albus and confessed all his sins to the old man. He retorted the whole sordid affair to a very angry Dumbledore. The shouting rang throughout the house. Even the portrait of Sirius' mother chose to remain silent during the wrath of Albus' rage.
Sirius was sure he was about to be hexed or sent on a one-way trip into the arms of a Dementor. Somehow, he didn't really care anymore. It was what he deserved.
"Excuse me, Sir, may I ask what all the fuss is about?" A full-grown Snape drawled silkily from the doorway.
Albus and Sirius turned as one and stared at Severus.
"My boy, you've reverted to your former self. You don't know how relieved I am."
"Not nearly as relieved as I am. I can assure you," Snape smirked.
"Of course, of course, but are you all right?"
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"Well because, Sirius has just informed me that he took advantage of your teenage self last night. He said he forced himself on you against your will. Is this true, Severus?"
Severus rubbed his chin thoughtfully before answering. "Hmm, that's not exactly the way I remember it."
Sirius stared at Severus, waiting for the other shoe to drop. He fervently wished Severus would just hex him and get it over with. "Just tell him, Severus. There's no use prolonging the inevitable."
"I suppose you are correct. All right, let me see. Ah yes, I called Black into my room last night. I had a terrible nightmare and I was disoriented. Finding myself in a strange bed was a bit disconcerting. Once he arrived, I calmed down and began to remember where I was and what had happened to me. Black, at that moment, was extremely comforting and I'm afraid I seduced him quite shamelessly. He did try to resist, but I just couldn't help myself."
"But, Severus, you were still underage. It's a crime to have sex with a minor, no matter the circumstances."
"I was not underage, Sir. I reverted back to my adult form before any penetration took place."
"Really, then why didn't Sirius mention that?"
"Honestly, I don't think he knew. It was very dark in the room and well, we were pretty heavily engaged at the time."
"Did you know, Sirius?"
"Um, no, Sir, I didn't know. I… I'm not sure of anything anymore," Sirius stuttered.
"I see, well in that case, I'll leave you two alone for a bit. I'll expect you back at Hogwarts within the hour, Severus."
"As you wish, Headmaster."
And with that, Albus was gone, leaving a stunned looking Black at Severus' mercy.
"Why, Severus, why did you lie for me? You didn't revert back last night. There was enough light in the room to see you. Oh, I get it. You wanted your own revenge. It's all right. You can do anything you want to me. I won't give you any trouble."
"Oh, I know that, Black. You'll roll over like a good dog, won't you now?" Severus stalked forward. All the while backing Sirius up until his back hit a wall. His breath came in short bursts, as Severus' face loomed ever closer.
Severus licked the corner of Sirius' mouth, causing him to whimper. I wish we had time to take this further, Black. I've waited years to explore that body of yours, but Albus is expecting me."
"You don't want to hurt me?" Sirius almost shouted.
"Puppy dog eyes will get you nowhere, not even with promises of submission. If you want me to hurt you, it will have to wait for a more opportune time. I must be going now."
"You want to be with me or is this just a game? Please, please don't toy with me. I don't think I could take it. My grip on sanity has never been that tight."
Severus snickered, "Truer words have never been spoken. I want to be with you, Black. I always have. I'll come back next weekend and we can have a proper date."
"But… but, I can't leave Grimmauld Place."
"We'll be creative, if that is acceptable to you?"
Sirius smiled. "It's more than acceptable."
"Good, then I shall see you in a few days. In the meantime, don't over think things. It is what it is. We have enough baggage between us and I want to enjoy this while it lasts. Are we in agreement?"
"We are," Sirius laughed as Severus threw a handful of Floo Powder into the fireplace and vanished.
Twenty years later, they were still in agreement. It is what it is became Sirius' new motto and he'd never been happier.
When the haze finally lifted, Sirius felt overcome with guilt. He'd just raped a teenage boy. He jumped up from the bed and slinked out of the room with his tail between his legs. This would most assuredly get him sent back to Azkaban. Albus would never stand for it, and Sirius would have to take responsibility for his actions.
Meanwhile, Severus slept peacefully, wrapped in the warmth of his fantasy come to life. Sweet dreams filled his head for the rest of the night, dreams of a future with the man he'd been in love with since he was eleven-years-old.
The next morning came too soon and Sirius knew what he had to do. He Flooed Albus and confessed all his sins to the old man. He retorted the whole sordid affair to a very angry Dumbledore. The shouting rang throughout the house. Even the portrait of Sirius' mother chose to remain silent during the wrath of Albus' rage.
Sirius was sure he was about to be hexed or sent on a one-way trip into the arms of a Dementor. Somehow, he didn't really care anymore. It was what he deserved.
"Excuse me, Sir, may I ask what all the fuss is about?" A full-grown Snape drawled silkily from the doorway.
Albus and Sirius turned as one and stared at Severus.
"My boy, you've reverted to your former self. You don't know how relieved I am."
"Not nearly as relieved as I am. I can assure you," Snape smirked.
"Of course, of course, but are you all right?"
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"Well because, Sirius has just informed me that he took advantage of your teenage self last night. He said he forced himself on you against your will. Is this true, Severus?"
Severus rubbed his chin thoughtfully before answering. "Hmm, that's not exactly the way I remember it."
Sirius stared at Severus, waiting for the other shoe to drop. He fervently wished Severus would just hex him and get it over with. "Just tell him, Severus. There's no use prolonging the inevitable."
"I suppose you are correct. All right, let me see. Ah yes, I called Black into my room last night. I had a terrible nightmare and I was disoriented. Finding myself in a strange bed was a bit disconcerting. Once he arrived, I calmed down and began to remember where I was and what had happened to me. Black, at that moment, was extremely comforting and I'm afraid I seduced him quite shamelessly. He did try to resist, but I just couldn't help myself."
"But, Severus, you were still underage. It's a crime to have sex with a minor, no matter the circumstances."
"I was not underage, Sir. I reverted back to my adult form before any penetration took place."
"Really, then why didn't Sirius mention that?"
"Honestly, I don't think he knew. It was very dark in the room and well, we were pretty heavily engaged at the time."
"Did you know, Sirius?"
"Um, no, Sir, I didn't know. I… I'm not sure of anything anymore," Sirius stuttered.
"I see, well in that case, I'll leave you two alone for a bit. I'll expect you back at Hogwarts within the hour, Severus."
"As you wish, Headmaster."
And with that, Albus was gone, leaving a stunned looking Black at Severus' mercy.
"Why, Severus, why did you lie for me? You didn't revert back last night. There was enough light in the room to see you. Oh, I get it. You wanted your own revenge. It's all right. You can do anything you want to me. I won't give you any trouble."
"Oh, I know that, Black. You'll roll over like a good dog, won't you now?" Severus stalked forward. All the while backing Sirius up until his back hit a wall. His breath came in short bursts, as Severus' face loomed ever closer.
Severus licked the corner of Sirius' mouth, causing him to whimper. I wish we had time to take this further, Black. I've waited years to explore that body of yours, but Albus is expecting me."
"You don't want to hurt me?" Sirius almost shouted.
"Puppy dog eyes will get you nowhere, not even with promises of submission. If you want me to hurt you, it will have to wait for a more opportune time. I must be going now."
"You want to be with me or is this just a game? Please, please don't toy with me. I don't think I could take it. My grip on sanity has never been that tight."
Severus snickered, "Truer words have never been spoken. I want to be with you, Black. I always have. I'll come back next weekend and we can have a proper date."
"But… but, I can't leave Grimmauld Place."
"We'll be creative, if that is acceptable to you?"
Sirius smiled. "It's more than acceptable."
"Good, then I shall see you in a few days. In the meantime, don't over think things. It is what it is. We have enough baggage between us and I want to enjoy this while it lasts. Are we in agreement?"
"We are," Sirius laughed as Severus threw a handful of Floo Powder into the fireplace and vanished.
Twenty years later, they were still in agreement. It is what it is became Sirius' new motto and he'd never been happier.
